Ukrainian manufacturer Avis has released a nice kit of this unusual subject. The real aircraft G-BOPO is still used (or again) as a UK demonstrator. More Information can be found on Wikipedia. The scene is called "Living On An Island" (Status Quo)

Hi folks, Quick digression in scale today as I made this 1:1 ID tag for my daughter to dress up as a zombie hunter: It's printed on my office printer, glued onto styrene sheet with Klear and cut out. Then I made a little seal from wine bottle foil embossed with a biro, and cut out a rectangle of Hasegawa polarize film so that the photo looks like it's holographic. I don't have a laminator (my wife's suggestion) or time to get it laminated, so I made the holder from clear PET sheet. I cut and folded it and then heated the folds in a candle flame (keep it moving!) to remove the stress cracks and tighten them up. There's a safety pin clipped/epoxied onto the back, and a bit of Blood for the Blood God for zombie chic. I think it looks quite cool, and hopefully means we don't need much other gear apart from khaki jacket and trousers that she already has. If I get any free time tomorrow I might try and do a gross sample of something in a ziplock bag though Cheers, Will

Hi all, So with some home renovations this year, I got nothing built in the first 6 months as the kits were packed away. But I managed to build some kits in the second half of the year, got to Telford, met some of you good people in person so not a bad year all considered! All are brushpainted and any questions, just shout. Revell 1/72 F-16 MLU Tigermeet, OOB build. Decals were a bear but worth it in the end. Airfix 1/72 Spitfire backdated to the prototype. Still not convinced by that colour, so much so that I don't really post pictures of it! Italeri 1/72 Bell UH-1D for the Huey STGB here on Britmodeller. Revell 1/52 Star Wars Snowspeeder with some mods for a 'Battle of Hoth' diorama And final one, a Hasegawa 1/72 F-18A Hornet for a 'Call of Nature' GB elsewhere. Thanks for looking, hope 2017 brings you health, happiness and plenty of good modelling. Regards from sunny Ireland. Dermot

I have notice that it seems fashionable to weather blades by chipping the paint and shoing silver along the edges. I always thought the following: Spitfire and Hurricane - wood with plastic strips on the edges painted black yellow tips Mossy and other RAF - Unsure but same as above German - Wood painted green or black Japanesse - wood painted black USA - early - wood painted silver in from and black facing pilot USA - late - unsure Anyone care to enlighten me Thanks Sean

Hi, finished this one quite a while ago but I was to lazy to take any pictures, it's a 1/48 Hasegawa F4U-5NL built as an Argentine Navy Birds from the 60's, it's mostyl OOB with the exception of the weels and the decals. I'm not thrilled with it, even when I haven't done any screwup (that was the main goal on this build) but sometimes I think it's a bit dull. Hope you like it PD: Photobucket: your're going backwards!!!
