  1. Hello everyone! Just finished the "good old" Hasegawa Bf109 G-4 1/32 in ProModeler (Monogram) boxing, released in the early 2000s. Overall still a great kit, built with some add ons like MDC trop filter, brass pitot tube, Uschi (Rig That Thing) elastic thread for the antenna, PE seatbelts and small plastic/metal bits to improve the appearance of this well known Gustav. Painted with Model Master enamels (RLM 78/79/80), clear coated with acrylic Mr. Color matt and gloss varnishes. Decals from the box. National emblems, A/C number and tactical markings masked and sprayed accordingly. Thanks f
  2. I have deep-sixed the obnoxious airfix fresco and I'm bringing this project out of cold storage. I feel the few steps I've completed put me well within the 25% threshold, but if GB mods disagree, I'll pull the project. This is the ProModeller boxing of Hasegawa's F-4e. This is the early F-4e with un-slatted wings and two varieties of nose guns. The very nice decal sheet has several options for phantoms from Homestead Airforce Base that spent the summer of 72 in Thailand, helping out with Operation Linebacker II. I'll be building one of the two Mig killers
  3. Hi guys, Can someone please help me with a scan of the decal placement instructions for ProModeler's F-86D Dog Sabre? I have mislaid my own instructions... What I really REALLY need is the placement of the stenciling. The kit-decals feature quite extensive stenciling, sadly the numbering on the Revell re-pops is totally different. Thanks in advance! Cheers, Erik B.
  4. About 10 years ago my father started the RoG Do217 but I don´t know why anymore, it didn´t make it to finish. Some years ago I managed to get him the ProModeler version of that kit second hand. In 2013 he then thought it´s time to build that German Medium. The kit was built oob, only seatbelts and antenna wire added. For the RLM 72 and 73 he used models and paint mixing suggestions on the web as reference and mixed it out of several Gunze and Tamiya acrylics. Not 100% satisfied with the colors, but I think they look ok. Quality and fit of the kit were very good, only had troubles with the
  5. #6/2017 The beast is done! My dad´s newest addition to our homeland collection. In 1937 the Austrian Airforce bought three Ju52, one was used as a staff aircraft and for instrument flight training (OE-HKA) and the other two as nightbombers (36 and 37). In March 1938 they became German property again... Didn´t knew that much about the Ju52 versions before that build. Thought with the ProModeler kit it would be an easy OOB thing because the kit includes the additional bomber parts, to say the belly gunner basket and the main wheel covers. Then we found out that the bomber was a "g3e" ve
  6. Finally my dad has some free space in his "factory" to start his next project for our homeland collection. This time going big and doing a Ju52 with the great ProModeler kit. I guess most of you didn´t know that, besides Austria´s civil airline, also our airforce used Tante Ju´s. They bought 3 aircraft in 1937, one was used as a staff aircraft and trainer for instrument/night flying, the other two were used as nightbombers. In 1938 they went back into German inventory.. stay tuned
  7. I would like to offer Monogram’s 1/48 ProModeler P-38 G/H Lightning done with Kagero decals for a P-38G flown by Lt. Kenneth G. Ladd, 80th FS/ 8th FG, Dobodura, New Guinea during 1943/44. It is called the Nulli Secundus/X-Virgin with “Ruthie” on the outer port engine. This kit has been around for a long, long time, back in the 60s or 70s when it first came out. The version I have is a 2002 reboxing with some new decals. (More about that later). Other than Accurate Miniatures, I cannot think of a line that has better instructions than the old ProModeler series. Most of them have pictures
  8. At the start of this year, one of my goals was to do comparison builds. I think it will make me do more kits and reduce the ever growing, multiplying exponentially stash that, frankly, it just out of control. I do not know how these things happen. (Perhaps build one kit a month, buy 5, maybe?) Anyway, this group build seems like the perfect place to start. Plans are to complete comparison builds of the 1/32 He 219 (Revell & ZM), 1/32 Mustang (Tamiya, Trumpeter, ZM), 1/48 Me 410 (Meng & Revell), 1/32 Skyraider (ZM & Trumpeter), 1/32 Me 163 Komet (Hasegawa & Meng) and 1/72
