  1. When the 1/48 Sea Fury appeared, I bought one. After looking and thinking that the Yeovilton Display aircraft looked cool it went in the stash...then late last year as I was just finishing the Airfix DH Vampire FGA 9, as flown by 502 Squadron RAuxF It was the last Vampire of 3, F1 (Square Tail) and F3 from the FGA 9, straight from the box, but with Rockets and Bombs...not included by Airfix I remembered that I wouldn't need the under wing load included with the Sea Fury so I thought I'd like to build the Sea Fury...and I needed something that wouldn't drive me mad, as the Vampires did. The initial build went well, no surprises. For the first time this build was all Airbrush/Acrylic with the hairy stick only brought into play on some very small details. I was impressed by the even density of colour and the amount of detail that showsd through. So, the first view.... I followed the Airfix Colour suggestions, but using Vallejo Acrylic paints. The resultant colour for the underside and interiro were a little surprising..... Comments, anyone? Anyway, on to the U/C and other external details, I'm enjoying this!
  2. Next build once AEC MK1 is ready for paint. Pictures later
  3. Kit - Tamiya 1:48 Paint - All enamels Decals - Superscale Extras - Ultracast resin exhausts & wheels, Master .303 barrels (added after photo), Eduard kit-specific Zoom Set. DH Mosquito FB.VI 107 Squadron BAFO Gutersloh 1947 Even though it's a Tamiya kit, I really took my time over it as I built it because I 'promised' a friend (and fellow modeller here in NZ) that I would, however that was four-and-a-half years ago. So after spending some considerable time on the 'Shelf of Forgetfulness' I decided to get my backside in gear and finish it as my first 'major' project following the recent house-move. So here you have it, please feel free to make any comments, ask any questions or hurl some constructive criticism. Thanks for taking the time to look, have a great weekend folks. Ian.
  4. Hi I'm currently working on some RAF ground vehicles from Airfix Vehicle Set and Refuelling Set, however I wanted to make them into 1950's vehicles, not Second World War. As far as I can find, vehicles around that time would be blue/grey with yellow tops. Is this correct for every vehicle, and are the vehicles I'm building from the sets ones they would use in the early 50's in Germany? And would the markings they have in the set still be the same? Many Thanks PlasticSoldier
  5. (image from Google, I looked in vain for an "official" website) In 98 pages, some double, are depicted the following aircraft: Lancastrian, Stirling, York, Dove, Marathon, Hermes, Heron, (Cunliffe-Owen) Concordia, Brabazon, Vicking, Halton, Consul, Tudor, Freighter, Anson and Ambassador. Great photos, some of them spanning two pages, including interiors. A must have!
