Hi all 0 Another Harrier from me, this time the Hobby 2000's re-box of the old Hasegawa kit. Not a bad kit but I had real problem joining on the nose section. Nothing would join together or line up properly, I had to do some serious surgery and then add a plastic shim to get the alignment correct... probably just me being a muppet! I did add a Aires cockpit which unusually fitted quite easily with minimum wall thinning. Painted in MRP lacquer paints and finished with VMS satin varnish. Thanks for looking Gary

My contribution to this group build, the 1/48th Italeri Tornado F.3, marked as Royal Air Force 111 Squadron on deployment to Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia in 2003. I struggled a bit with the personal connection and 'iconicness' of the Tornado F.3. I live in the UK so guess that counts. Also have wanted to build a Tornado ADV for some time. For me the Tornado F.3 is iconic because it is the last British interceptor from the Cold War, first entering service in 1987, and took part in Operations Granby and Telic. I also remember the 56 (R) Squadron Tornado F.3 Display for 2005 which was very memorable. I did build the Italeri Tornado IDS kit a few years ago and it turned out well although did take some effort, so hopefully the same here. On to the photos:

The U.K's Main Battle Tank: Challenger 2 From service in 2003 (Operation Telic) An Operation in Iraq which featured a host of Challenger 2 Tanks and there Added armour and skirting. I mixed up my interpretation of British Desert Yellow using Revell aqua :16 sandy yellow + Matt white and brown. I picked up the Trumpeter version relatively cheaply and after reading other peoples opinions and reviews of this kit i have to say i did not find the kit bad at all. With some added details, mainly stowage and tarp, i think this is a good example of a reasonable kit, of course for the full monty Tamiya's version plus all the after market parts will make a very accurate and show stopping example...but with that comes a hefty price tag of £60-£90. And i intend to make one at some stage... till then i have this to stare at I put this version together for £15 plus bits from my spares box. Sam
