Hi, In a moment of madness I decided to paint my Tamiya 1/32 scale F14 in Desert Pink. A "what if the MRCA had been a failure" scheme, assuming that the RAF would have replaced the MRCA with the F14. I described the work here: I've almost completed the painting, 3 x 14 ml of Humbrol 250 later I find I need another can!! The paint, when sprayed, covers badly and the original grey shows through. Irritatingly, Humbrol have discontinued this paint. Given the way the original desert pink faded and was patched up with Leyland decorating emulsion "Blush" there is no way the aircraft should be a uniform colour. Also, looking at examples of USN F14s they mark and stain badly round vents, ducts, etc. But I'd like to get it a bit more uniform.... Does anyone have a spare can in their stash they'd like to move on, or can anyone suggest an alternative. Xtracolour X32 would seem the logical paint, or their acrylic X1032.

Hi, I've received a nice photo of a Lynx in desert livery from a friend a while ago asking "Nice, isn't it?" Well, I was hooked... even I have no previous experience with helicopter models. After a short research - I have NO previous knowledge about any Lynx - decision was made. I've grabed an AH7 boxing and did some conversion planing: 1) new 'metal' rotor blades 2) new bigger tailplane I have also ordered a complete set of Eduard PE (interior, exterior, seat belts) and mask. The last but not least is the Xtradecal sheet depicting the famous XZ221 J from Operation Granby... I have started rotor modification by creating new blade tips from a set of 'folded' blades: Final result... ... and remains Next is the new tailplane It's made from a 1/144 DC-9 tailplane Next will be interior details... S.

Well it's finished(!) one Jaguar GR.1 by Italeri in 1/72 scale with Pavla cockpit and ejection seat. Minor modifications made from bored out rear vents to custom nose cone using clear plastic. Primed with Humbrol acrylic grey undercoat from a spray can, followed by Tamiya paints, Humbrol Clear and Vallejo Matt Varnish after decals and weathering (oil paint wash with turp substitute). WIP here: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235007242-jaguar-gr1-172-italeri-operation-granby/#entry2466792 Comments welcome as always and I hope you enjoy the pictures. James

Hi gents, just got Aviation News Magazine Vol.19 No.26 (1991), there is an article "Royal Navy commando helicopters return from Gulf war". Problem is, that the magazine is missing pages, so I only have the last page (page no. 1209) of this article. Is there any chance somebody has this issue and is willing to scan this article for me please ? Would like to add it to my ever-growing Gulf war collection. One more question - there is Seaking HC.4 marked "WP" in Gulf colors, but with no serial number - any chance to find it ? Thanks in advance and best regards. Jakub
