Hi all I have wanted to do some Royal Navy builds for some time and with the finishing today of my Vampire that is the last build on the RCAF Ventura Target Tug build thread I have decided to start this one. I have the following models on the bench currently, but I will be adding to it as I feel like with further FAA subjects such as some Swordfish, Seafires, Sea Vampires , Barracuda and Albacore hopefully. To start with I have the Special Hobby 1/48 Avro Anson Mk 1 ASV Radar trainer. This book cover shows the version I am doing and will be building the all yellow EG317 as shown below. The Flycatcher is the Lindberg (ex Inpact) kit. This is bring done with a scratchbuilt cockpit. The last of the current batch on the bench is the Grand Phoenix Fairey Firefly Work has started on all 3 as I like to have multiple builds on the go to keep Mojo levels high. The Kit above are all lovely kits and hopefully will be enjoyable builds. I will post shortly progress as chores are required by SWMBO Chris

So it's time for me to try and clear up a couple of kits that didn't quite get finished in previous GBs. Neither need a massive amount of work so thought I'd place them in the same thread. Firstly a Sword 1/72 scale EE Lightning, from the 2020/2021 Interceptors GB previous build thread here. I got bogged down and disheartened by the decals, especially after finding I'd placed the roundels in the wrong place for the wing walkway demarcation lines. Looking a little wet there as I rinsed off the shelf dust! It needs that tail tip paint fixing, possibly some more decals adding, the undercarriage fitting, clearcoat and some weather and I should be able to call it done. The second kit needing some finalisation is a Tamiya 1/35 SAS Jeep kit, from the Less than a Tenner GB, build log here. All that stowage really ground me down - especially having to clean up loads of nasty seam lines on every piece. Again it shouldn't take too long to actually get done but I'm still far from finding the enthusiasm for this one, other than actually getting a bit of peace of mind for finishing it!

Builds contents kinda thing I guess: Airfix Spitfire MkVa 1/72 - started post #1, finished post #48 Airfix Spitfire Mki two blade 1/72 -started post #17 Eduard Spitfire HF MK.VIII 1/72 - started post #21 Airfix Spitfire Mkia with aftermarket 1/72 - started post #46 Right, new project time! Aldi Airfix kits are cheap, I have loads of spare parts and decals for Spitfires, why not buy another three... I have 11 Spitfires now. I just can't stop building them. It's so addictive! They're so fun and so easy to do. And there's literally thousands of schemes I could choose. All the kits look well moulded and nothing's missing. I raided my box of spitfire spares to get parts to make one MkVa and one MkI with a two bladed prop. Another will be done as FZ L, a regular prewar Mkia with a silver underside. This is the decal set I'll be using for two aircraft. I've previously build DL N after I messed up the canopy on a MkVa and rescued the build to make a Mki with two bladed prop. I'll be doing FZ L and K9795. The MkVa will be this one, which I previously messed up. I'll probably get this started while I'm waiting for decals to arrive for my Vulcan B1a... And an Eduard Spitfire may or may not join the build
