  1. Hi Friends, @Val_Ukraine , @Procopius My MiG is from IBG 72901 set "MiG-29 in Ukrainian Air Force". IBG reboxed Trumpeter's model with Foxbat decals (it is company from Ukriane). The set contains 3 different camouflage variants, in my opinion the most attractive one is with "tryzub" (harpoon). I added some extra goodies: Eduard's exhaust nozzles, Quinta cockpit and small but very usefull Eduard PE set designed for old Italeri kit. Instead of using digital cammo decal set I used additional masks produced by Foxbat too. I also added some wires, replaced probes and antennas. It was very relaxing build, took me only 3 months. Let's look a little closer: Important remark: I cut and shortened main landing gears. Without it model looks really bad - it's rear side is much too high, as you can see below. In my opinion best solution would be: to shorten all gear struts 1mm and add extra 1,5 mm for front gear. And some photos with Tonka which I finished recently too. She still waits for photo -session: Glory for free and independent Ukraine. Please, help and support brave Ukrainians, they are fighting not only for their own freedom. Thanks for watching and reading, hope you liked my Mig. Best regards, Michal.
  2. I am looking for the "Bronze green" color as used by the RAF/FAA in WW2, to the present day. Who makes them? Hannants Xtracolor does offer a XOX814 Deep Bronze Green paint; is this the Bronze Green sometimes mentioned? Or, is it a surface Camo. color for aircraft? Also, looking for the "Green Khaki 4" for the RAF vehicles. I have the new Airfix Lancaster BI Special with the mine for the "Dambusters" raid. Airfix just gives the same "Dark Green" for the mine as the topside camo. I believe that Colourcoats does offer both paints; neither of the two importers in the USA have them in stock. All help is welcome. TIA. Joe
  3. Hi everyone this is my 1/72 Zvezda Su-57. The kit had a lot of great detail and had the option to have the flaps at the front and elevators down. I used Rc251 Dark ghost grey and Rc234 aggressor blue as the instructions weren't clear on the colours. For the camo, i printed of a picture which i resized to be the same size as the aircraft. I then placed masking tape over the picture to make a mask. The kit fitted well together without the need for a lot of filler. The only problem that i had was tht some of the panel lines needed rescribed as they were very hard to see. I found this a very challenging kit as i had never attempted a camoflage like this but i think it came out well. Thanks for looking
  4. Hi Folks, Now that College is over for the year, I've got a little bit more free time. Can't resist a bit of model making despite the good weather, so here goes... Hasegawa 1/72 AV-8B Harrier II A nice looking kit that hardly gets built, with good reason some might say... From memory, the kit builds up well but it does have a few glaring issues. This is one of the 'limited edition' pricejacker kits of a variant that hardly gets seen and in these markings too. A nice box photo, I'll use this to get an idea of weathering. New parts/decals: Surprisingly, this kit has most parts for both Plus and Night Attack variants. The decals are pretty good too and are printed in a cool blue/grey colour, the box photo hints at the same colours for the markings and I think these jets were aboard an Amphibious Assault Carrier as the 'ET' tailcode is usually reserved for the 'Flying Tigers' helicopter squadron Annoyingly, Hasegawa never seems too bothered about updating the early AV-8B cockpit console of the 'real world' kits, the Plus, Night Attack and GR's have 2 digital screens. Their computer game inspired AV-8B Plus Idolmaster kit, with the animation characters plastered all over it, has the updated cockpit. Make of that what you will... Best to press on: Moaning aside it's onto the kit. Got a few of the weapons sets to load up the jet, I'm thinking of a Litening pod, Zuni rocket pod and either x2 500lb LGB's or x2 500lb JDAMS. Other suggestions are welcome... I'll build this Harrier in-flight, primarily due to the speedbrake being moulded closed... I'll have to scrounge a pilot from somewhere too. I'll also be dipping into this side project, an open speedbrake 'plug', as I would like to build more Harriers in the future. I've used the Quickboost resin set before but I find it quite tricky to work with, so I'll make my own instead!!! The GR.3 insert comes from the Hasegawa kit and that will be built into one of the YAV-8B prototypes in the future... Back to the build. All the parts needed to be painted before I can join the fuselage halves. BTW, I kidnapped a pilot from a Fujimi F-14 kit, superb detail I have to say and he/she is wearing U.S. Navy gear too. Super. More to follow soon, thanks for looking and enjoy the weather.
