I was looking at a review of the Orange Hobby F-35C kit the other day, and something about the kit left me wondering. The F-35C is the Navy version of the aircraft, so it has folding wings. The version of the kit in question allowed the plane to be modeled in "beast mode" with a full load of under wing ordnance. In "beast mode" the aircraft has three under wing pylons on each side, with the outboard pylon on the section of the wing that folds up. The manufacturer's pics of the assembled model showed the aircraft with the wings folded, and a Sidewinder missile mounted on the outboard pylon at the same time. Would this actually happen in normal carrier ops? I know nothing about the subject, but it just seemed... odd to have a live missile on the folded up wing like that. Thanks!

Hello, Does anyone have any information on the Bluewater Missile which was a proposed missile that would have come in 2 varieties:- a) Surface to surface Missile Air to surface missile The Surface to Surface version would have been launched from the back of a truck (possibly the good old Bedford RL), whilst the Air to Surface version would have been launched from the TSR-2. in ether case it was intended as a tactical strike that may have had a Nuclear or conventional warhead! Does anyone have photos or information on this project etc.??

I've just returned from an enjoyable holiday in the US and picked up the kits below in hobby shops while out there. I was told that they were all re-issues but I suspect a couple might be 1994/5 issues, mainly as I can't find any new details about them. It looks as if we are in for some nice real-space modelling nostalgia if the US keeps re-issuing stuff like this. There was also a Vostok (1:100); Saturn V (1:200); a MACE missile on its trailer/launcher; an Atomic Gun and trailer; plus a big Truck (GMC?) recovery vehicle on sale but I didn't get those as no room in my suitcases for such big kits!
