  1. This is a very simple model, from the Modelex firm which bought the old Heller Cadet molds. I am destined to buy them because in Argentina the only way to buy models is through internet pages and paying very expensive shipping, so I just have to go to the supermarkets and grab these Modelex (Very low quality and reputation). Art box I bougth this one in december of 2022 with the idea of doing it like the Mirage IIIEA of the "Forest of the 55" (which is a monument with this Mirage and a Dagger where each FAA dead in the Malvinas war has an Oak, is in the VI Air Brigade, base of the Daggers and last fate of the IIIEA) and later buy another one and make it as the dagger of the monument. The registrations in question are India 003 (I-003) and Charly 412 (C-412). This is the Tail Art of the India 003, this one is the first one-seat Mirage in fly in Argentina Armament This is what it comes with, I took this photo from a forum because I didn't take a photo when I opened it and they wanted you to see how it looks, the kit in the photo is the Mirage III C 1/100, which only comes with other decals (the R versions and C nose come in R and C kits) Starting: This is the seat, i make some details in Scratch Cockpit: HUD, Control command and details in Scratch Nozzle, counterweight and cabin Wing Details and gears Cockpit Glass glued and nose details Armament: All in Scratch 500 Liters fuel tanks (made with Balsa Wood) Matra Magic 550 and 530, fins made with aluminum from soda cans, body of the Magic 550 made with toothpicks and body of the 530 with Brochett Stick. 30mm Defa Cannon made with old plastic parts. Last progress. This Model is for the Diorama, if you want to see the progress you can search "1/100 Argrntinians Hangars (Soft Shelters" (with the r error) Ask to the admins: I still need some details and the painting, I got the progress during 2023 but since I haven't finished it yet so i decided to publish it here on WiP (Was it okay?) -Santti
  2. Hi all, I am currently building a Mirage III RZ and I found these photos of a South African Recon Mirage at the Ysterplaat museum. Oddly, it doesn't have any national markings. Was this ever an operational scheme? I know that Rhodesian planes were sometimes devoid of all markings, notably during the Bush War, but I can find no period photos of S.A. Mirages without the Springbok Castles. http://www.sa-transport.co.za/aircraft/dassault-brequet/mirage_III-r2z_saaf857_15_dvdb.JPG http://www.sa-transport.co.za/aircraft/dassault-brequet/mirage_III-r2z_saaf857_01_dvdb.JPG
  3. Another one to my "Falklands collection", this time 1:72 Mirage IIIEA, I-014, 1st Squadron, 8th Air Group Argentine Air Force, Rio Gallegos, May 1982. New Modelsvit kit, built "out of the box" except metal Pitot tube (Master) and squadron emblems decals on the fin (Condor Decals). Painted with Gunze Mr.Color C series. The Modelsvit kit itself is just great - extremely well detailed as for 1:72 scale, crispy molded, well fitted (although a bit complicated - definitely not for beginners). I think it was the best short-run kit I've ever assembled. "Work in progress" topic was on Polish forum: https://www.pwm.org.pl/viewtopic.php?f=884&t=90757 And now some pictures: Thanks for watching!
  4. Well two Mirage IIIE and a VPA3 to be more accurate with the Agave nose of the latter in my opinion providing the ultimate in Mirage style. The models are based on two slightly different 1/48 Italeri (ex-ESCI) Dassault Mirage IIIE kits. No.2634 which was for a time the standard boxing with decals for four French examples along with one each from, Spain, Switzerland and Australia and No. 2674 a special release marking thirty years in French service with decals for nine options along with an additional sprue with parts for the Martel AS 37 ARM and RP30 1700 Litre drop tanks. Some parts such as the AIM-9 Sidewinder really show their age and others such as the very shallow jet exhausts need some work and spare parts/plastic tubing to deepen them. My aim was to model one in the early form of higher-visibility yellow edged markings and the other in the later toned-down form but to build both as near enough from the box as was possible with some slight changes to aerial fit and the extended jet pipes as mentioned. For the French examples the only after-market addition was the AN-52 Nuclear Weapon from Belcher Bits however for The Pakistani Mirage VPA3 with Agave Radar Nose built for a magazine article the build was a bit more complicated. Contrasting styles of French high and low visibility markings Mirage IIIE from Esc.03/003 'La Fayette' with an AN52 on the centreline was completed in the earlier higher-visibility form of the markings which required a little change to the kit decals to provide a suitable serial and sourcing a second PHIMAT. Mirage IIIE from ESC 02/003 'Champagne' with Martel ARM on the centreline was completed in the later lower visibility form of markings. Pakistan Air Force Mirage VPA3 from No.8 ‘Haider’ Squadron was converted by using an adapted form of Eagle Design’s resin set CK-19 for the Peruvian Mirage 5P4 providing a new nose, cockpit and jet pipe. The Exocet ASM came from the Airfix Super Etendard along with the carrying pylon which was extended and re-shaped to resemble that used on the Mirage and the AIM-9P were from an Esci F-4. National markings came from a Bright Star sheet while the unit tail badge was photo-shopped from an internet image of the squadron crest and home-printed.
  5. Hi, here's an old kit that I have managed to knock together. Only improvements were a little scratch building in the cockpit (can't be seen!) and a resin seat. Not a great kit but a great subject from my personal favourite era. Thanks for looking. FF
  6. Hi, Here's ny current build of the old Esci kit reboxed by Italeri. Not the best kit or my best build but a great subject! Thanks for looking. FF
