  1. Hi, My priority is to finish my Tamiya P-47M, but I also have one of those new Mini Art P-47D's (basic kit). I thought about keeping it for the "Made in Ukraine" GB of 2024, but I see "Made in Poland" on the side of the box. And I guess you'll be interested in seeing one of them in the GB. My first impressions: some interesting features, like the option of having the landing gear hang down as if it's coming in to land. The clear part (canopy) is a bit distorted (like was said in the Rumourmonger thread). There are more parts to be used than in the Tamiya kit. Where Tamiya used one piece for a part, Mini Art uses three (like for the seat). No pictures yet, but you can see better ones than I'd take in the Rumourmonger thread. I've always wanted one from the 78th FG, so there's another reason to start it now. Cheers, Stefan.
  2. LGOC (London General Omnibus Company) Coal lorry and London bus dual build. Mini Art 1/35 I tend to lurk here in the vehicle forum to admire the work, as I am mostly an aircraft modeler but I do like the stuff posted here. In fact it does tempt me to have the odd go at building something wheeled now and again, and when I saw the Mini Art London bus I knew I had to get one. The trouble was it looked like a very complicated kit, so I thought it would be better to start with the coal lorry and see how I got on. Both kits share the same engine/chassis moldings, but the lorry bodywork is way simpler than the bus. They are very finely molded and throughout the challenge was always not to break something as I worked on them, especially the bus and all those handrails! Anyway, I persevered with the lorry and then took the plunge and purchased the bus kit. Lovely kits, but they really do make you nervous when working on them! I finished them both over a year ago so here they are! I pinched a bit of my sons model railway coal to scatter on the load bed. And to the bus, only when I had managed to build the lorry did I feel confident to shell out £55 for the kit Thanks for looking, John
  3. Hallo The interior kit of the T-60 tank is generally very nice to build. A few shortcomings are already there. Self-made inadequacies when sprayed components are to be glued, and due to the color, the accuracy of fit is no longer given. Etched parts that are so delicate that they can hardly be bent precisely and, because of their size, can hardly be glued. The delicate track chain, which is difficult to assemble and even more difficult to close. In all of them, however, I like the model because it is one of those little Russian tanks that are easy to forget in the collection. I'm looking for good kits for a KW and a Stalin. Who can give me ideas? Happy modelling

  5. Hi All, having a bash at doing figures for my diorama, and as they are a first I am on a learning curve, one is a Mini Art the other is a Resicast, difference in detail is dramatic, but a big issue is getting the flesh colour right and on nicely, they seem to be too Pink or too White and even thinned 70 % thinner it is still stodgy and lumpy, using MIG flesh tone set, and a magnifying glass, already cleaned off a couple of times and redone. pointers gratefully accepted Cheers Mark

  11. WHERE’S JOE The Creators: The diorama was created by Luc de Dapper, chairman of the Eeklo (Belgium) scale model club and Marc Degraeve, famous in Belgium for its ability to create figurines, starting from a bended paperclip. The intention was to create a diorama, that was interesting 360 degrees all round. Right from the start, the theme would be “Where’s Joe”. This gives spectators at venues the inspiration to start looking for the missing GI. “The time frame is the “Ardennes Offensive” in Belgium around Christmas 1944. The soldiers are going to use the house, covered in ice and snow, to shelter some moments from the elements. The lady of the house is preparing soup from US rations. Something to look forward to in this cold environment. The cozy interior will make the GI’s think of their family back home, and hopefully make them forget the misery there in at this very moment The cameraman is making sure, that the loved ones back home can see, that Uncle Ben is still on the move towards victory. Used Materials: The house is from Mini Art, with self made added wooden floors The complete interior (hundreds of details) is from Marc’s stash. Snow-Ice-condense is all over the diorama The GMC is from Tamiya with a self made canvas to cover the load The Jeep is from Tamiya, and a set from Black Dog Several figurines from different brands. Marc changed the figurines anatomically to get them in the right position. Besides that he added extra winter clothes to most of the figurines. The snow and ice is made from: Precision ice and snow krycell fine (115gr) Precision Ice and Snow wash (15ml) It is always good to see a plan come together. Planning, preparations and executing the whole diorama took two years. I hope you like the scenery. Orion. BLACK AND WHITE WE FOUND JOE. HE IS WORKING ON A THIN BROWN SWEATHER
  12. I built this as part of the Eastern Front Group Build.
  13. Hi folks with the mustang well on the way I wanted to do another entry but get out of my aircraft comfort zone,I picked up the Hanomag a while ago dirt cheap but popped into my LMS today wanting to get Dragons British infantry Normandy set to do a little scene on a base, sadly not in stock but he has just started selling Mini art kits and when I saw this I loved the scene,so my thoughts are the half track shot up and the figures posed with it.I am not a figure modeller so that,s a good start! but I love the late war German armour,s colour scheme and It will be a good challenge to see how I can re-create the damaged vehicle.I won,t get a start for a week or two as I wan,t to finish the Mustang and I am also Fighting with an Airfix 1/24 Hurricane, now someone go and spoil it by telling me these vehicles were not used in Normandy!!!
