  1. Hello, Hannants has this kit in their future releases. Does anyone know is it a variation of their excellent 9-13 kit or their old mould with new decals? Regards, Martin
  2. From chinese source it appear Trumpeter is working on a 1/72nd MiG-29SMT (9.19) "Fulcrum-E" kit - ref.01676 Source: http://www.weibo.com/u/2975465393#_loginLayer_1414227446425 V.P.
  3. Hello everyone I start a new adventure with the MiG - 29 ( 9-13) Zvezda in 72 , kit of which you speak so good and who, at first sight of the sprue , it seems to respect the words expenses. We will see later , in the assembly phase if it is an easy build. As my usual , I'm not worried about the size and panels . Soon I will put pictures box / sprue / chosen subject . 4. Hello to all! I'm back with a Mig-29G of the Polish Air Force (ex Luftwaffe) based on Malbork Air Base. Academy kit with much scratch & extras: Neomega resin cockpit. Aires wheel bays, airbrake and exhaust. Brassin wheels. Eduard photoetched set. Dream Model brassed pitot. Quickboost antennas & sensors. Techmod decal sheet. Finished with Gunze & Tamiya paints. Hope you like my Fulcrum! Cheers from Rome, Italy. 5. Can anyone tell me if Airfix changed the formulation of the plastic used in the rebox of their Mig-29? I'm currently building the one in the original boxing that has the RLM02-coloured plastic, and it is crazy brittle. I've had to repair a bunch of bits and the nose landing gear has already broken a few times. I'd love to get the new Czech boxing but I'm wary of having to deal with that beautiful but super delicate nosegear, especially if it just keeps snapping on me.
  6. Hi Everyone, This was my first visit to RIAT and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. My wife and I were going to go to a different airshow, but decided we would try RIAT out. As soon as the show finished, I said to my wife that I would like to go again next year especially as the theme is 75th anniversary of the USAF. I hope they bring the big bombers over including the B-2. I couldn't believe how many members went to the airshow this year, I wonder if I saw any of you without realising it. My wife and I were sat to the right of the P-8 Poseidon patrol aircraft all day and had a great view of all of the displays. Anyway I'll let my photos do the talking. Comments are welcome, if anyone would like to know what gear I used I can get the specs off the gear and put them up here tomorrow. Comments are welcome. All the best, Rick
  7. Well, here's #2 of my single type solo group build. This is the Italeri kit, which is up until recently the best MiG-29 in 1/72. Caracal's international MiG-29 sheet is awesome as usual, and I could not resist this beautiful blue scheme. I had meant to this to be an out-of-the-box build, but I found a picture of the Myanmar bird armed with S-8 rockets and I couldn't resist. grafted a pair of S-8 pods and pylon from the Hasegawa J-15 kit, and along the way I lost the clear sprue so I had to scratchbuild a new IRST lens and landing gear lights. The canopy seal is done with thin strips of white decal. An Indian Fulcrum is next!
  8. Hi there! This time I release a fulcrum from Great Wall. 1990 version in GDR territory. I saw a discussion on this build here. Some of you like it,I appreciate that! Negative comments also make sense, that's ok.I have to admit a part of panel lines are over-emphasised,and the color is little different from the true one.I shall do more study next time. Thanks for your support again! Enough talk,Here is the pics, wish you enjoy it!
  9. Here's my entry: Beaten up old box, but not a bad kit inside. GWH it ain't, but still has better shapes than the Revell 1/32 version. That said, it has many shape inaccuracies and the open louvres on the upper LERX which is a shame. But for a fiver I'm not complaining, and it WILL look like a Fulcrum. Not bad for a kit that dates from the very earliest sightings of the jet in the West (1988). Instructions pretty basic, as are the provided decals. Represents one of the famous visitors to Rissala, Finland in 1986 which i will be making. Work to start next week! Good luck with your builds folks, Al
  10. The MiG-29, considered as What-if theme, inspired by the Korea movie commonly known as Soar Into the Sun outside of Asia and R2B: Return to Base in Asia. Replicating the Korean People's Air Force's MiG-29 in the movie, dogfighting a ROKAF F-15k which I will link it in the comment section with 98% of completion. 1/72 Tamiya MiG-29, OOB. KPAF emblem, aircraft number and skeleton head near cockpit by Fishbone Inc. Calling it done. Thank you! Let's start with a nice photoshopped cover: Thank you!
  11. First of all, please excuse the quality of the pictures. Photography isn't my strong suit. I must say, I'm just a little chuffed at the way this has turned out. The fit was more of a wrestling match at times and the decals weren't good for the nerves. In the end they came out great, you really have to look hard to find the edge of the carrier film. Comments of any kind welcome. Thanks for looking.
  12. I've been a member here for a while now and I'm constantly amazed at the level of craftsmanship thats on display here. It makes for some great daily reading. So, I thought it was about time I made my own contribution. Whilst I realise I'm nowhere near the level of most people on here, I love the challenge. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and it's all good practice for the next project. Enough about that though, time to present my intended build. The kit itself was picked up long ago from Modelzone for the bargain price of £8 and then slowly added to as and when I came across the parts I wanted. As you can see the 'battle' has already commenced. The Aires cockpit didn't need much to get a decent fit but to get everything lined up took forever. This was the main reason for building the front section first, after reading so many horror stories about the fit of some Aires sets, I wanted to make sure that everything was in nice and snug. And to be fair, this is the third cockpit set I've used and none have been that bad to deal with. The main problem now comes from the kit itself. The two main sections were not even close to being a match. Started by trying to get the best fit and alinement on top. Shouldn't be too bad after a quick run over with the sanding sticks. Hopefully! The underside is another story though.... My plan of attack is now to try and attach the intakes by clamping them tightly at the front using super glue. During dry fits it all seems to come close to being brought back into line. Then, I was thinking of dropping the bottom half into some hot water to take some of the natural 'spring' and tension out of the plastic. I'm hoping to end up with something that's a lot closer than this anyway. That's all for now, hope to be able to share the results a little later. Cheers and thanks for reading.
  13. MiG-29A Resin and Photo Etched Accessories for Trumpeter Kit 1:72 Eduard Trumpeter are on a bit of a roll at the moment, having released a sequence of very good kits of Soviet/Russian subjects in superlative 1:72 scale. The MiG-29A was released last year (you can find our review here), sandwiched between their Su-27 and Su-24 kits. It immediately established itself as the best example of an early Fulcrum in the scale and a number of excellent examples have appeared in our very own Ready for Inspection sub-forum. Now Eduard have realised a slew of photo etched and resin goodies to help us make the most of the kit. MiG-29A Cockpit for Trumpeter Kit 1:72 Eduard First up is a complete cockpit to replace the kit parts. This resin item is made up of a K36 ejection seat, a new cockpit tub, instrument panel and control column, as well as photo etched details for the HUD unit, the canopy and the rear cockpit decking. The ejection seat comprises a single piece of grey resin as well as a set of pre-painted harnesses and grab handles. The tub has also been cast as a single piece of resin. Both items really are superb in terms of both the level of detail and the quality of manufacture. Going by past experience, the finished article should look absolutely excellent once in place. MiG-29A Seat for Trumpeter Kit 1:72 Eduard If you don't fancy splashing out on the whole cockpit set, you can purchase the K36 ejection seat separately. This is an attractive option for modellers on a budget, and being such a ubiquitous item in the Russian inventory, you can use it in a whole variety of other models as well as the MiG-29. You get the same photo etched harnesses as are included in the full cockpit set, so there really is no compromise in terms of detail. MiG-29A Exhaust Nozzles for Trumpeter Kit 1:72 Eduard The exhaust nozzle set is another direct replacement for the kit items, and the parts slot into place without any cutting or sawing required. You will need to cut the rear turbine face from the casting block, but that is all. Flame holders for the afterburner are provided on a photo etched fret of parts. As with the cockpit, the resin parts are superbly detailed and cast and superior to the kit parts (which aren't at all bad) in every way. MiG-29A Photo Etched Detail Set for Trumpeter Kit 1:72 Eduard This set comprises two frets of photo etched parts. The first fret contains pre-painted parts for detailing the cockpit and includes harnesses, pull handles and a cushion for the ejection seat, as well as details for the instrument panel, cockpit sidewalls, control column, rudder pedals and HUD unit. Almost all of these parts will be redundant if you choose to buy the resin cockpit set, so think of this as an alternative to that set rather than an additional extra. The second fret is unpainted and contains details for the rest of the airframe. The landing gear benefits from hydraulic lines and a mud guard, there are FOD guards for the engine air intakes and details for the missile rails crucial if you are not planning to finish your model with a full load of weapons. There are flame holders for the engine exhausts and details for the cockpit canopy too. Smaller details include a host of small aerials and plates to dot around the airframe. MiG-29A Pre-Cut Masks for Trumpeter Kit 1:72 Eduard Last but not least is a set of pre-cut paint masks for the cockpit canopy and wheels. If you've used these items before then you'll know exactly what to expect reliable items which can save you a bit of time and effort if you are that way inclined. They are a bit of a luxury on a small model like this, so whether you use them or not will be your own judgement call. Conclusion Although Trumpeter's MiG-29A is pretty damn good, there are always limitations to what can be achieved with injection moulded plastic. Eduard have recognised this and delivered a suite of nice upgrades that should please every modeller keen to make the most of this new kit. Recommended. Review sample courtesy of

  16. Hi everyone! This is my MIG-29 (9-12) Fulcrum of Italeri in 1/72. This was a beautiful kit to build, good fit, overall very accurate and detailed. I added some detail to it, Pavla resin interior, Eduard PE, and Authentic Decals sheet. I also added some cables to the landing gear. The scheme belongs to an "agressor" soviet squadron. I coudn´t find any information or photos of these airplanes except for one, and another model built in the ARC forums. i have to say that to be correct to this scheme, it should be a MIG-29 9-13, but I realized after finished, because the decals didn´t say anything about how to paint it or to what model belonged. I hope you like it! Every critics or comments are welcomed. Best regards! Ignacio from Uruguay

  18. My latest build, from GWH's great kit! More info here, hope you like it: http://www.modellingnews.gr/el/%CE%BC%CE%BF%CE%BD%CF%84%CE%B5%CE%BB%CE%B9%CF%83%CE%BC%CF%8C%CF%82-%CE%BA%CE%B1%CF%84%CE%B1%CF%83%CE%BA%CE%B5%CF%85%CE%AD%CF%82/mig-29-fulcrum-9-12-early-gwh-148 Someone please edit the title!!!!
  19. Hi, I have the above kit, just wondering what the differences are between this and the late 9-12 version? Is it simply the deletion of the 2 ventral fins? As always any help appreciated. FF
  20. Saw this build over on ARC and thought I'd share it. I've just got this kit, but somehow I don't think mine will turn out anything like this good! http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?showtopic=274515&pid=2604576&st=0entry2604576 Andrew
  21. I recover this one from the bin of doom in this state Depainted with oven cleaner And refubrished it to this, it's far from perfect but it's better than it was before Hope you like it Saludos!
  22. Hi everyone! Here's my next project being built for Issue 2 of Cold War Aircraft Modeller, Great Wall Hobby's stunning 1/48 MiG-29 Fulcrum. This is easily in the top two or three 1/48 kits I've ever built: the levels of detail are incredible and the ease of assembly, finesse and features all have to be seen to be believed! All of the items that you see here are 'from the box' I've simply painted up the kit parts ready for the pictures. I hope that you like them! Spence
  23. R-73/AA-11 Archer Guided Missile 1:48 Eduard Brassin (648071) The Russian Vympel R-73 is the latest generation of short-range air-to-air (A2A) missile, which has a reputation for achieving a high kill-ratio in a dogfight, due to its ability to "see" targets well away from its line of flight. The latest variant, the M improves the off-axis targeting and adds some addtional infra-red capability as well as a significant software upgrade, making it a formidable opponent. This set from Eduard arrives in their larger clamshell box, and contains sufficient parts build four of the missiles including the pylon adapters for the Mig-29 and Su-27. Inside the box are the four missile bodies, with the large rear fins moulded in, to which you must add the front steering vanes and either a clear seeker head, or the protective cover they wear when on the ground. At the rear either a cover, or a detailed representation of the simple vectored thrust exhaust are glued, hiding the blank rear of the missile. A number of PE parts are added to the front section of the missiles, resulting in quite a busy looking missile. The launch rails are common between both the Mig and the Sukhoi, but have different spacer blocks installed depending on which aircraft they are to be used on. Once complete and painted, the rail and the missile can be mated during the final phase of building of the host kit. Conclusion The detail on these missiles is excellent, far superior to any kit renditions, and the inclusion of a clear seeker head and the two covers will add some additional realism to your finished model. The detail also extends to the launch rails and adapter blocks, resulting in some very realistic looking ordnance. All that we could wish for in addition would be some stencil decals to assist with the finishing of the missiles and rails. Recommended. Review sample courtesy of
