  1. Right, time to tackle this little beasty! I have been waiting for someone else to post up a build thread, so I could learn from them, as I'm sure there are gremlins hiding in this limited run kit. This one started well, but has stalled - So picking up the batton. First step, lets open the box and see what's inside - Supermarine S5 1/48 from MikroMir by Mike, on Flickr Four sprues of quite detailed plastic. 2. Having had a wee lull I finally managed to finish this 1/72 Micro-Mir Canberra T17. I ended up finishing as a 360 Sqn aircraft from RAF Wyton in 1985, mainly because the decals with the kit were incorrect. Built OOB using the Modeldecal 85 set and addition of the HF aerial using fishing line. Was looking forward to building this when it came out but probably used not far off as much filler as there is plastic and it fought me all the way. Got the weighting in the nose wrong but the trick with the wire in the wheels worked a treat. Apologies for the poor photographs but
  3. Just finished - the USS Growler from Micro-Mir...... I didn't get an exact straight line for the waterline... (the port side is better..) Colours are from rattle cans of Halfords Grey and Red Plastic Primers - with Humbrol Panzer Grey enamel for the non-slip decking. I've just realised - in my rush to get it photographed and on here - I've forgotten to weather it!!! (It's an age thing) Ken PS - WIP is here

    Argosy

Hi! I just saw that Hannants now has Micro-Mir 1/144 Argosy in store. There are two versions: 100 series and 200 series. If I were make a RAF Transport Command version, which one of these should I get. Has Micro-Mir announced a RAF version? Cheers Hans J
  5. Bereznyak-Isayev Bi-1 Mikro-Mir 1:48 Flying a fighter aircraft during World War 2 was an extremely dangerous profession by anyone's standards. Flying an experimental, rocket-powered, Soviet-built, wooden and fabric constructed fighter aircraft was practically suicidal! The Bereznyak-Isayev BI-1 was the brainchild of Aleksandr Bereznyak and Aleksei Isayev. The idea was proposed in July of 1941, and by September of the same year the first unpowered glider flight was undertaken. Because of the rapid German advance through Soviet territory, the factory building the BI-1 had to be relocated
