  1. Hi everyone, Have not posted much lately but that has not stopped the modelling. I'm on a bit of a Fulcrum spree and here's a go at the 1/72 Trumpeter MiG-29S painted in Ukrainian markings. I was aiming to build one of the gorgeous blue/gray camo birds but could not find decals to make any of the units that I have photographic proof of their existence. The next best was to build a possibly fictitious Blue 02 based on the Blue 01 in one of the Hasegawa kits and with the decals coming from the wonderful (and huge!) Begemot set. Comments on the kit and the build: Build:
  2. Hey everybody, Does anyone know if there is a difference in shapes between the two noses provided in Trumpeter's MiG-29 kits? I have a very bad eye for shapes, and as far as I can tell, the only difference is that one has the diverter strips molded on, and the other does not.
  3. hello everyone,as you can see in the images below i'm trying to paint a mig-29K, however i have encountered difficulty while trying to add panel line wash. i used enamel oil paint for the job, but while trying to clean it off, the paint mark is still present. i'm not sure how to fix this problem properly in the best way possible. can anybody give me a suggestion on what i can do to resolve this painting issue?
  4. If anyone's wondering, apparently you can mount an R-60 and an R-73 on the same wing. I think I read somewhere that you can't. Anyway on this chart below, check out the second page, 8 rows down:

  6. Hi, Does anyone know if the new Revell 1/48 Mig-29 is a re-boxing of another brand or a totally new tooled kit? The internet is very vague about it except that it is due for release in Feb 2013 and that the kit number is 5865. HLJ has it on pre-order for about GBP 23-00.
  7. Hello, Hannants has this kit in their future releases. Does anyone know is it a variation of their excellent 9-13 kit or their old mould with new decals? Regards, Martin
  8. From chinese source it appear Trumpeter is working on a 1/72nd MiG-29SMT (9.19) "Fulcrum-E" kit - ref.01676 Source: http://www.weibo.com/u/2975465393#_loginLayer_1414227446425 V.P.
  9. Hello everyone I start a new adventure with the MiG - 29 ( 9-13) Zvezda in 72 , kit of which you speak so good and who, at first sight of the sprue , it seems to respect the words expenses. We will see later , in the assembly phase if it is an easy build. As my usual , I'm not worried about the size and panels . Soon I will put pictures box / sprue / chosen subject . 10. Hello to all! I'm back with a Mig-29G of the Polish Air Force (ex Luftwaffe) based on Malbork Air Base. Academy kit with much scratch & extras: Neomega resin cockpit. Aires wheel bays, airbrake and exhaust. Brassin wheels. Eduard photoetched set. Dream Model brassed pitot. Quickboost antennas & sensors. Techmod decal sheet. Finished with Gunze & Tamiya paints. Hope you like my Fulcrum! Cheers from Rome, Italy. 11. Can anyone tell me if Airfix changed the formulation of the plastic used in the rebox of their Mig-29? I'm currently building the one in the original boxing that has the RLM02-coloured plastic, and it is crazy brittle. I've had to repair a bunch of bits and the nose landing gear has already broken a few times. I'd love to get the new Czech boxing but I'm wary of having to deal with that beautiful but super delicate nosegear, especially if it just keeps snapping on me.
  12. Hi Everyone, This was my first visit to RIAT and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. My wife and I were going to go to a different airshow, but decided we would try RIAT out. As soon as the show finished, I said to my wife that I would like to go again next year especially as the theme is 75th anniversary of the USAF. I hope they bring the big bombers over including the B-2. I couldn't believe how many members went to the airshow this year, I wonder if I saw any of you without realising it. My wife and I were sat to the right of the P-8 Poseidon patrol aircraft all day and had a great view of all
  13. Well, here's #2 of my single type solo group build. This is the Italeri kit, which is up until recently the best MiG-29 in 1/72. Caracal's international MiG-29 sheet is awesome as usual, and I could not resist this beautiful blue scheme. I had meant to this to be an out-of-the-box build, but I found a picture of the Myanmar bird armed with S-8 rockets and I couldn't resist. grafted a pair of S-8 pods and pylon from the Hasegawa J-15 kit, and along the way I lost the clear sprue so I had to scratchbuild a new IRST lens and landing gear lights. The canopy seal is done with thin strips of white d
  14. Hi there! This time I release a fulcrum from Great Wall. 1990 version in GDR territory. I saw a discussion on this build here. Some of you like it,I appreciate that! Negative comments also make sense, that's ok.I have to admit a part of panel lines are over-emphasised,and the color is little different from the true one.I shall do more study next time. Thanks for your support again! Enough talk,Here is the pics, wish you enjoy it!
  15. Here's my entry: Beaten up old box, but not a bad kit inside. GWH it ain't, but still has better shapes than the Revell 1/32 version. That said, it has many shape inaccuracies and the open louvres on the upper LERX which is a shame. But for a fiver I'm not complaining, and it WILL look like a Fulcrum. Not bad for a kit that dates from the very earliest sightings of the jet in the West (1988). Instructions pretty basic, as are the provided decals. Represents one of the famous visitors to Rissala, Finland in 1986 which i will be making. Work to start next week! Good luck with your buil
  16. The MiG-29, considered as What-if theme, inspired by the Korea movie commonly known as Soar Into the Sun outside of Asia and R2B: Return to Base in Asia. Replicating the Korean People's Air Force's MiG-29 in the movie, dogfighting a ROKAF F-15k which I will link it in the comment section with 98% of completion. 1/72 Tamiya MiG-29, OOB. KPAF emblem, aircraft number and skeleton head near cockpit by Fishbone Inc. Calling it done. Thank you! Let's start with a nice photoshopped cover: Thank you!
  17. First of all, please excuse the quality of the pictures. Photography isn't my strong suit. I must say, I'm just a little chuffed at the way this has turned out. The fit was more of a wrestling match at times and the decals weren't good for the nerves. In the end they came out great, you really have to look hard to find the edge of the carrier film. Comments of any kind welcome. Thanks for looking.
  18. I've been a member here for a while now and I'm constantly amazed at the level of craftsmanship thats on display here. It makes for some great daily reading. So, I thought it was about time I made my own contribution. Whilst I realise I'm nowhere near the level of most people on here, I love the challenge. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and it's all good practice for the next project. Enough about that though, time to present my intended build. The kit itself was picked up long ago from Modelzone for the bargain price of £8 and then slowly added to as and when I came across the pa
  19. MiG-29A Resin and Photo Etched Accessories for Trumpeter Kit 1:72 Eduard Trumpeter are on a bit of a roll at the moment, having released a sequence of very good kits of Soviet/Russian subjects in superlative 1:72 scale. The MiG-29A was released last year (you can find our review here), sandwiched between their Su-27 and Su-24 kits. It immediately established itself as the best example of an early Fulcrum in the scale and a number of excellent examples have appeared in our very own Ready for Inspection sub-forum. Now Eduard have realised a slew of photo etched and resin goodies to help u

  22. Welcome in my first WiP on this forum ! I'm going to build this MiG-29 In this model i'm using some extras, here is the list of them. Eduard PE set (interrior) Eduard Exhaust for MiG-29 Pitot Tube from Master Correct Nose from Quickboost Masks from Eduard Some of my scratch (cables inside wheel bay, hand-made antenna IFF) Some parts from Eduard MiG-21PFM Decals from CaracalDecals and White Eagle And that will be all . Now photo. Here are exhaust from eduard And some Rockets with stencils from MiG-21 (I know they aren't 100% realistic, but they looks better with stencils)
  23. Hi everyone! This is my MIG-29 (9-12) Fulcrum of Italeri in 1/72. This was a beautiful kit to build, good fit, overall very accurate and detailed. I added some detail to it, Pavla resin interior, Eduard PE, and Authentic Decals sheet. I also added some cables to the landing gear. The scheme belongs to an "agressor" soviet squadron. I coudn´t find any information or photos of these airplanes except for one, and another model built in the ARC forums. i have to say that to be correct to this scheme, it should be a MIG-29 9-13, but I realized after finished, because the decals didn´t say an
