Good Evening Pals, after my little Interwar Tank i felt like doing something a bit larger, Mengs KT II came in handy, my first Meng and have to say good Quality all around fit is perfect. I build it out of the box but the tracks which came for the 1st time from TREX and it won't be the last time that i will choose them. My intention was to create a war beaten vehicle that also shows the lack of everything on the german side at the very end of the war.... Thanks for watching & comments! Cheers Hans

LINK TO WIP THREAD: CHAR 2C Super Heavy French Tank, "The French Leviathan" MENG 1/35 Hi Pals, I finish the model, and as usual, a batch of detailed photos. It has been a very pleasant kit to build, without review problems, everything fit together very well, and also there are not a multitude of small pieces to get another complete and small one in addition... Personally I prefer it, I think that having more pieces does not necessarily make a kit better, and on the contrary, it ruins the fun by unnecessarily complicating the work and at the same time, the progress is very slow and not very fruitful. The tracks are perhaps the most complicated in the kit, although nothing special, they are just delicate, and when handling them, it is easy for them to open at some point, and have to be joined again, but at the same time they do it again at another point at the same time stress them That's why, as soon as they were in place, I decided to use glue. To say that the putty used (MIG AMMO), is a very good material, at least for me, it has served me very well, and I have been able to make the camo, which was a lot and complicated, because I wanted to conform to the pattern of the instructions as much as possible i was able The only negative thing is that you have to be careful with PEs, as it tends to stick and if it is not smooth, it is very difficult to clean. One of the grilles was damaged for that reason. Painted with the AMMO set for French vehicles of the time, and weathered with AK and MIG products. A highly recommended kit for lovers of ancient French armor, or if we want something different and quality for our collection. I added a photo with my M3 Stuart, for size comparison, it is not a figure, but it can give an idea of how big it was. It would have been ideal to have an R35, H39, or even an FT17, but at the moment I don't even have anything like that in my stash... Maybe when I lighten the stash in a century, I'll add one and upload the comparative photo. Seeing the finished model, I would love to make a Char B1, but the price is very unfriendly, I think it is too expensive for what it offers, if I ever find an offer, it would be an ideal companion for the C2. I picked this up around Easter time last year, but due to some overseas travel it remained abandoned almost complete until Christmas time. Brush painted with Vallejo and Tamiya acrylics and weathered with various Vallejo Model Washes (thanks for the advice @Keeff @Bullbasket @Maddoxx77 and @Longbow). Finished as Tank 344, “Musical Box”, famous for its involvement at the Battle of Amiens, August 1918 in support of Australian infantry. Build thread can be found here: Thanks for looking.

Moving along to my next project, I had intended to start the Asuka Sherman III in my stash, but I saw this going at a very reasonable price in the local hobby store, which has clearly had a restock since I last checked in. From a quick look around on line it looks like a straightforward build, and as I am travelling again in a few weeks, it may be something I can finish before I head off. It will also be the first Meng kit I have built. @Mike posted a useful inbox review when the kit first came out; One slight change is that Meng have replaced the string for the towing hawser with a length of braided wire. Still only two colour schemes formally provided, however there are clearly other ones on the decal sheet (captured German one, a Russian one and perhaps a couple of other British ones?). Having read around I’ve decided to paint mine a brownish colour, using Vallejo 70.988 Khaki, which from the little swatch I’ve painted appears brown with a green tinge. I’ve got a couple of days off this week - so let’s see how far I get.

Hi Pals, After a long hiatus since my Hunting Tiger, and with some recovered mojo, I will try a new kit, despite the fact that the conditions are not very pleasant, since the temperature with 30ºC in the house, from very early on, is too high for focus, at least for me.🥵 This time the chosen one, after a lot of deliberation (the more kits in the stash, the more indecision, since they all seem to have something negative that makes them back down), the MENG 1/35 Char 2C, a "good" kit, which I had it for a few years, hoping to have more experience and determination, so as not to ruin it, because although I got it at a good price, I think it is a very special model. This would be the 2nd MENG kit that I make, the 1st was the Soviet T10 M, and if it's as good as that, I think I won't have too many problems with the assembly. It comes very well packed and presented, with a very nice boxart. Thank you very much for watching and commenting as always. Cheers and TC Francis,👍

I was originally going to build the Miniart Austin for the groupbuild but Ed beat me to it and although I was going to build a different version I felt most of it would be repeating what he was doing, and he is an excellent model maker so I doubt I would be able to add anything of note. So I have decided to go with the Meng Rolls Royce. I couldn't decide on which version I wanted to build out of these two options. So I thought why not do them both. I know that the kit doesn't exactly provide the correct parts for the 1914 version but I have ordered the early turret from Friendship Models and hopefully I can make any other corrections. Wayne

Hi all, back again with another one This time its a Meng 1/35 T-72B1 I got last Christmas and finally completed. Additions include the V-84 engine set (which I'd bought myself and built prior to receiving the kit) and the double pin tracks as the single pin tracks in the kit were proving incredibly troublesome due to insufficient length on the pins. Probably a little anachronistic as a result on this particular vehicle in a late 90s setting, but I left the pads off to make it look a little older. Crew figures are Miniart's 70s-80s Soviet Tank Crew, just painted them up in the later flora scheme. Diorama idea is a Chechnya style setting around '99 (22 years ago and making me feel old 😐). Small issue with the Ultimate primer cracking and flaking in places, which might be a little evident in some shots around the turret 🤔 Anyway, on to the pics Thanks for looking as always Gaz

This is the Mk.A Whippet from Meng. It was built a little while back but after an accident it sat around awaiting repair. It is a lovely kit to build with no issues. I painted it with my own mix of Tamiya paints although I think I may have gone a little too green. It has been weathered with oils but I haven't applied any mud effects yet as I will probably put it in a small diorama.

Started this back in October and finally got back to it. I guess it's finished.

Finished finally. There is a complete interior in there but even with the hatches all open it's impossible to see. I didn't want to leave a sponson off so I just shut the hatches. Even with the hatches open one would have to figure out how too add a couple of LEDs for some light to see the detail. It's a match for my MKV Female and with the captured Whippet that's pretty much it for WWI stuff unless I get something like an 8" howitzer.
