  1. Hello Everyone This is Revell’s excellent 1/48 Me-163 B-1a Komet. The only modifications were the homemade seat straps and I decided to cut the flaps out and display them lowered. It’s been painted with the decals on for some years and then just left in the loft for me to finish the wheels, canopy and aerials etc. Not sure what happened, but the decals seem to have discolored somewhat. Anyhow it’s finished rather than just ending up in the bin, not my best work but I still like it. Thanks for looking. Regards Trace
  2. These three models were built when I was younger (15-17 I think), then they were thrown into the garbage because a shelf fell above them and broke them, without a repair chance. The Fw 190A-8 was specially fragile because I had swapped, once glued, its early style wheels for the late ones of Hasegawa´s newly tooled Fw 190A-5. Revell´s 1:32 Junkers Ju 88A-1. At this time I wasn´t too sure how to sand the paint ridges, so the aircraft was decaled over them. I used Scale Aircraft Conversion´s metal landing gear for this one. Hasegawa´s old tool 1:32 Focke Wulf Fw 190A. This was the first aircraft I tried to seriously mottle. It was also painted using bluetac as a guide for the camouflage. Academy has the same colour scheme on its 1:72 Fw 190A-8. Hasegawa´s 1:32 Me 163. The photos were uploaded to the "1:32" contest in Modeling Madness, you can find them here: https://modelingmadness.com/contests/1-32/1-32pix.htm I´ll try to find the photos of my old models, they´re scattered throughout many other websites.
  3. Me 163A Komet Interior Set & Control Surfaces CMK/Special Hobby 1:72 Interior Set (7350) Special Hobby through their CMK line continue to increase their range of resin enhancement sets for various kits. This set provides a new cockpit tub, Seat, control column; and instrument panel back in resin. Also included are photo etched details for the instrument panel, rudder pedals, control wheel; and seatbelts. Control Surfaces (7351) This set provides all the wing control surfaces and a replacement rudder. Review samples courtesy of Conclusion These are great sets that will enhance any kit you wish to use them on.
  4. Good afternoon (on my part of the globe), gentlemen. This model was somewhat an opportunistic purchase; I won the kit at USD 15 in a local auction. Some times later I got a kit with a suitable theme so I made a dual build of those two. Therefore I decided the Komet would be in the whole RLM 23 scheme flown by Wolfgang Späte. The kit originally comes with engine parts but for simplicity reason I opted to build a closed-up fuselage. I was lacking in references, I should've smoothed out the seam between vertical tail and fuselage. I got troubled with some of the decals, hence some silvering can be seen (e.g. Balkenkreuze under the port-side wing) Unfortunately, for this project I didn't make a WiP documentation. And here's its dual build counterpart, I chose to paint both of them RLM23 Red, one is literally Red Komet, the other is piloted by "Red Comet", and to me personally, both are awesome machines (and kits). Should I post another article for the counterpart? Cheers, ZM
