Halve the size, double the joy!™ A Matchbox Nostalgia Group Effort ploy ... let's make scale models of those scale models. As a group let’s try to build all Matchbox multicolour models, in all versions, i.e. the painting instruction versions and the original multicolour, but in half the original size, so there’s actually a chance to get it done. In other words, that 1:72 PK-115 Messerschmit 110 becomes a pair of 1:144 Me-110s (from whichever brand): one painted in the Matchbox plastic two-tone, the other as one of the fully camouflaged versions depicted on the back of the box. Each of your scaled down Matchbox entries should ideally be such a pair. You can enter as many (pairs) as you want, as long as you have a good backstory to explain the connection between them. "One from each of the 1:72 aircraft series." "The first three Matchbox models I ever built." "All the biplanes … duh!” "All types that have a 7." Etc, you get it. Planes, tanks, ships, men, cars, bikes. Inspiration found here: www.matchboxkits.org . Other than that, the more the merrier. If we’ll see dozens of Spits, but few or no Foxes, then so be it. I'll add the Ten Commandments for this GB all the way below, if more than ten fellow Britmodellers are interested ... who is? 48-Alone-Is-Great ...

Good Afternoon Gents, Decided for my next build I will drag this model from the stash, Made in my youth and I think the Torpedo survives in the spares box still! Of course I hung everything underneath it for max building Pleasure. Here are a few pics of the opening Ceremony I certainly don't remember the moving Ailerons and most defo did not get Seat Belt decals in the original kit. Kit bought in Toy Town according to the label....I'll never grow up!! Looking at the nett shops are asking for £17.00 Sweet lord!! Defo not worth that. After the pics were taken I ended up gluing the Fuselage together and sticking the Tail planes on as well. Wings were glued together, It is a pretty Spartan kit for detail! All the best.

Hi Everyone, It's been a long time, and I am impressed and enthused by everyones participation in this group build already. That said my entry thus far is the Matchbox A-7D Corsair II kit. Back in the day I never built this one myself, although my dad did so I saw/played with it up close way back when. I've only just started it overnight, although I did remove the parts from the sprues some time ago, and have consequently misplaced the little man in the cockpit, yet fortunately for this build a somewhat blue chap who normally sits in a 2 seat Hunter has offered to stand in. As to my progress, well so far all I've got through is having finished cleaning up one fuselage half, the seat, fuel receptacle thingimy-jig and the tail pipe. While I've started cleaning up the intake parts as well. My plans are to paint it all, to hide our man blue. Plus finish it with all of the bombs, drop tanks, missiles, with wheels down and fitted on the stand as well. If I knew where the real A-7 driver was hiding I would build it without painting it. Yet I am just as happy to colour it in with paints as well. Of which the following pictures show the box, instructions and the parts I haven't worked on yet. Anyway cheers, and I hope you have all been well along the way since I was last here. Daniel.

This will make the fifth Fury in the GB so far and at least the second using the Silver Wings decal set! Great minds think alike... I will build this while I await the new decals for my Siskin which will be in the 19 Sq livery. I need roundels. I couldn't source them from the spares or cash with any consistency. All my Fury is in a bag 😆....sorry folks. It came that way from the seller. What I am curious about are any outward appearance differences between the Fury I and the Fury II? I could build the training flight Fury I... Or scratchbuild a bit here and there (maybe cannabalize some spats) and build a Fury II... The web says the only real difference is the engine (525 hp Kestrel to 640hp Kestrel) and it seems there is a gunsight on the Mk. II. What say the Mods? (The Mods have granted me my wish and I will be building the Fury Mk. II.) -John

This is probably a very good opportunity to be motivated enough to attempt this. More on this (with pictures) later. 😉

And I am off...first I cleaned off the bench. I've not done that properly since my first GB back in...I don't know...I've forgotten... Greece can be a dusty place and my flat is no exception, hence the glass-doored cabinets I have for the built kits. This is kit PK-8, Gladiator Mk.1 and I will make it in French livery for a nice, silvery change. This is my second build for this GB and I am eagerly awaiting the outcome of the 2018 voting! Oh boy, am I excited! All I ask is a clean bench and a kit to steer her by... Except for the decals from the excellent Extradecal Gladiator set, this will be OOB as much as possible. And my second Gladiator from that decal collection. I built the Greek bird last year from the new Airfix kit. Why do I think this will be more fun? --John
