  1. Manufacturer: Heller and Nagano. Aftermarket: None used. Paints: Molotow chrome, LP-38, LP-3, Mr Color Aqueous 63 and 2K clear. Weathering: Flory Models grey, Flory Models dark dirt wash, 502 oils and AK pigments. Link to build thread: Work In Progress of the Mad Max Jim Goose's MFP Police pursuit bike. Well, here we are guys, pulling a wheelie across the Greeble / kit bash finishing line. This is an iconic movie bike, lots of real-life replicas are around of this bike, body work and fairings are still available from Japan. In fact, the fairing is the same one that was fitted to the Toecutters Kwaka. It's been a challenging project, but I loved the whole process, it will take pride of place in my model bike collection that's for sure. I was not aware until well into the build that the movie bike had rear set race style rider foot pegs and feet controls, so I had to modify the kit parts, only took 30 minutes or so to knock up something that looked convincing. I have plans to use the left-over kit parts in the future for another bike-based kit bash that's of a real-life Honda prototype from the early 70's, but that's for another day. Thanks for all the encouragement during this build, it really helped to keep the mojo on the boil.
  2. Hi folks, I am going to try and convert these three 1/8 bike kits into Jim Goose's MFP Police pursuit bike from Mad Max the original movie. I will be taking the fairing from the Honda CB950 and grafting it to the top half of the Heller Endurance racer fairing. The Kawasaki 750 kit will be providing the fuel tank, side panels and front mudguard. The seat unit will have to be modified to give a more accurate shape to the movie bike as well as the seat. I will have to make up the decals. Should be a fun build, "See you on the road!”
  3. I want to show you a model that I made in 2017 for a Facebook model competition (won it). The theme was post-apocalypse. I used a Chinese toy car: Chevy Camaro '67 in 1:34 scale and a 1:35 WWII figure from Tamiya (with a WH40K helmet). I also used accessories for WWII Tamiya military models. The base is made of styrene foam, the billboard is a vintage advertisement print and glued to the styrene frame. The bundle on the roof is a tissue soaked in wood glue, placed on polystyrene cubes
  4. Hi all calling this all finished, the base is a cake board cut down slightly and covered in cork sheet, the dead trees are from an aquatic eBay store that's been painted with 502 oils and the sandy earth was a layer of war gaming sand and Flory pigments, all held in place with Hataka orange top semi matt clear lacquer. The interceptor car is an out of the box build, painted in Mr Hobby Color dark iron 214. This colour gave the car a nice flat sun bleached effect. I had a lot of fun building this diorama, I hope you like the final reveal guys.
  5. Hi all, I intend to combine all of these kits to produce a diorama featuring some of the main characters and vehicles in Mad Max 2. I will be converting the Wallis Military Gyrocopter into the one seen in the movie, I will be swapping out the engine and using the one from the VW Beetle and I will have to scratch build the twin tail fin assembly. I was lucky to find the resin figures for sale on eBay, they were the last of a limited number produced, no idea by who, but they are nicely cast and look pretty accurate. To complement the figures I bought the kit with the dog, as I wanted to have Max's dog in the diorama. The Beetle will be used in a future build no doubt. It should make an interesting diorama I think with all of these vehicles and figures combined into it. Today I jumped into the build of the Gyrocopter engine conversion, my research found that the engine was from a VW Beetle, the Little Nellie and military version show a flat four 2 stroke engine, I cut the gearbox casing off the Beetle engine and using the mounting points from the 2 stroke kit engine. I found it fairly easy to produce a convincing fitment. However I did have to turn the cylinder barrels and heads around because they lay in a tray and I had to leave that part off to give a more accurate look. I got lucky with the exhaust pipes, they were made up from a spare car exhaust I had in my spares box. For the twin tail fins I used some parts for mounting the Little Nellie weapon pylons and traced around the original rudder to get accurate looking tail fins. I don't think they were used as rudders, just stabilisers, so I fitted them to the made up cross bracing, I also made a small jockey wheel just under the rear frame centre rail. I have limited frame grabs of the movie Gyrocopter, so I am only going for a fair representation of it. That's all for now folks.
  6. Hi, After the work I have done on my series of 1/24 scale Post Apocalyptic cars, I thought I would continue the theme but in 1/35 scale. I was inspired by theanorak73 "Zombie Attack" diorama - excellent but by the way, if you have not seen it. I will be using the MiniArt Factory with Stairs as the main building but adding scratch built shop fronts to extended the building. The main figures will be from Master Box: The bike will be from Tamiya: The end of the building with the stairs will be an alleyway, in which the follow vehicle from Meng will be parked (without the gun): On the stairs will be this figure from "Not Yet Dead Miniatures" called Doreen: And possible (somewhere) this figure also from "Not Yet Dead" called Max: To add a little interest I will have a burnt out car as well, this BMW from Takom: I will use various sources for the stowage and street furniture, including this set from Meng: I have most of the items, waiting on the Factory, then I will make a start. I'm looking forward to this build as I haven't done a diorama for a long time and not in 1/35 scale as well. Cheers Richard
  7. Hello A few pictures on my project that I have finished in Aughust. It's Revell Ford 32 in 1:25 scale for someone who like post apocalypse universe and films. Enjoy. Cheers Mike
  8. This was my first resin kit that I built last August. I've adding lighting and a few other details to complete this project. I used Automotive 2K clear lacquer for the final finish and the decals on the front wings were from a Aoshima kit of the Mad Max 2 car that I have in my stash. Enjoy the ride guys!
