  1. I haven't had any actual leaking in any of the bottles that I have ordered, but it quite obvious that the caps are not perfectly air tight, as there is a smell of fresh lacquer on most of the bottles. I get the smell of paint by just getting near the drawer where I store them. I've got some colours of the original glass bottle, (most of them Regia Aeronautica, it seems that is not a popular subject at least here in Finland) and there is absolutely no smell. I have to curse the company for getting rid of those glass bottles which are great. Now they don't even come with steel balls, this kind of cutting of expenses is rather extreme. The world is a big place, if the original glass bottles are not available anymore, I'm sure there exists a good replacement for them. I just wonder when this evaporation becomes a problem, has anyone had problems with disappearing paint? I have quite a large collection of different colours for all future projects, so some could be used after years, not months. I wonder if Mr Color Replenishing agent would work with MRP? It contains some resins, would adding that to MRP make it thicker than it's supposed to be?
  2. Another Phantom from me, a Hasegawa 1/72 F-4S Phantom II, Eduard etched brass used in the cockpit but otherwise finished OOB and using the kit decals which were quite thick and didn't want to settle, weapons came from the spares box, finished with MRP and Tamiya paints. 1/72 McDonnell Douglas F-4S Phantom II by Phillip Wilmshurst, on Flickr 1/72 McDonnell Douglas F-4S Phantom II by Phillip Wilmshurst, on Flickr 1/72 McDonnell Douglas F-4S Phantom II by Phillip Wilmshurst, on Flickr 1/72 McDonnell Douglas F-4S Phantom II by Phillip Wilmshurst, on Flickr 1/72 McDonnell Douglas F-4S Phantom II by Phillip Wilmshurst, on Flickr Enjoy.
  3. I use pipettes to transfer paint from the bottle to the airbrush or mixing cup. I've been getting a bit fed up with the number of them that have been littering the spraybooth. Yesterday I finally got around to drawing up and cutting a stand to hold them tidily and out of the way. I'm not sure if others have this issue or not, but if anybody would be interested in this stand please let me know and we can get it added to the product range. Cheers
  4. I'm nearing the end of my Kitty Hawk Su-35 build (which has been an enjoyable, simple build after my Su-30MKI) and already preparing to begin the excellent looking GWH Su-35 in the three tone blue-grey scheme. Although I'm more than confident that AKAN colors (with a little tinkering) will do the job on the three color blue-grey camouflage scheme I thought for fun I'd get some of the new dedicated Su-35 sets that I'm not too familiar with, namely the MRP Su-35 and the AMMO by MIG Jimenez Su-35 and see how they looked. These are simply brushed on to watercolor paper, merely to see the color hues so I'm not worried about the tone as all that will change through the airbrush and any necessary lightening. I'm very happy with the MRP colors and hear great things about how they spray. The light blue is suitably cool, the grey and darker blue-grey also look accurate and most importantly they all look good together. I've used AKAN colors for the modernized Su-27SM as they are what I had planned to use and from earlier use know will look good and won't be so dark when sprayed. The AMMO colors all seem way off to me. I'll see how the MRP colors look when airbrushed but they seem the best so far and I've never sprayed this kind of paint before. I look forward to a strong surface that the acrylic AKAN has never really managed. Has anyone airbrushed any of these colors yet?
