On 6 June 1944, 4 County of London Yeomanry (4CLY) landed in Normandy as part of the 7th Armoured Division. By the time all the component units were ashore, a gap had opened on the right flank and 7th Armoured was sent to exploit this gap.
On 13 June, lead units of 4CLY were outside Villers-Bocage the officers were going to HQ for an O Group and the crews began brewing up tea.
What happened next was the stuff of legend, a lone Tiger tank brought the whole advance to a halt, giving the Germans time to organised a counter attack and throw 7 Amd out of Villers-Bocage.
Calalmity Jane II was killed there on the road out of Villers-Bocage, along with two of her running mates.
This model represents her sometime between 6 and 13 June. Stowage not 100 accurate as there are only two pickies I could find. There are no grousers on the hull or turret due to my inability to get to grips with the minute parts. The kit is the AFV Club issue, picked up as a part started item a while ago.
