  1. Hello, I'm Alex and I just joined this forum. This is going to be my first post, and I wanted to show what I'm currently capable of and see what I can improve on. Here's the build; I started with the stock Tamiya m26 pershing kit in 1/48. This one's getting a bit long in the tooth( I especially learned that when half my torsion bar mounts snapped during the build), but in my opinion is still an excellent kit. It is, to my knowledge, the only American heavy tank in 1/48 scale. I started by drilling out the headlights and replacing the gigantic brush guards with some styrene strip of an unknown size. I also took some time to file down the brush guard for the horn. next, the hull and anti-aircraft machine guns were drilled out. The final modification was that the antenna mount was drilled and a piece of wire was glued in place. Also, the sideskirts were omitted for some variety and the edges of the return rollers were left unpainted due to the size of their rims. Here's the full finished model. Any thoughts are appreciated, thanks for taking a gander!
  2. WELL! Here we go, my first Group Build and on familiar ground The kits are by HobbyBoss and are a fantastic build The cunning Plan: the M26A1 to be 1st US Marine Division, Chosin 1950 and the M45 of the 6th Medium Tank Battalion M26A1 Pershing with RB .30cal & .50cal MG's and MDC .50cal ammo belts and a few resin ammo boxes M45 Howitzer Tank using T26E4 base kit and Accurate Armour M45 Howitzer conversion (had this for years, about time I used it) - Time is now 09:40 on Saturday 19th April 2014 and the build starts now! (well, after breakfast anyway )
  3. I have been working on a project with Sleeper Service regarding an 'alternate ending to WWII' and how it progressed. In project 2 I have taken a Tamiya M26 Pershing and applied a few different modifications to create a support tank. The full build can be found here our Club website: Some of you may have seen this, and project 1 around the recent shows. They will also be at ASVC Show, Wombourne tomorrow and Sutton Coldfield next Sunday
