Finally I have come closer to my goal of building a Lancia LC2 that meets my requirements. I found a Tamiya Tamtech body on the well-known auction site! I was able to win it for a few euros (12.52). The mold is perfect, but unfortunately, it's just a shell with lots of holes for screwing on a standard chassis This mold is made of a transparent plastic that appears to be very impact-resistant. Unfortunately, the whole thing isn't completely transparent, but rather slightly milky. But it's significantly better than my previous attempt with the Italeri kit. I sealed all the holes and drilled new ones. Many parts need to be rebuilt, but that's much easier than modifying the Italeri model. I spent a lot of time modifying the decals for the new body. Homemade decals require many attempts to finally fit. I've already made most of the parts in 3D for the Italeri LC2, they're easy to adapt! Regards Andreas

Hello. Forgive my ignorance and any presumptions I might make on this topic. Some time ago there was a discussion on modelling a body and 3D printing to replace the woeful item produced by Protar (and Italeri) for the Lancia LC2. I've just had notification through eBay of a Tamiya Tamtech body for sale. Admittedly I don't know much about this mold from Tamiya with regard to accuracy, but on the evidence of the few photos available it certainly looks better than the Protar - well, a mold of a dustbin that had been through a crusher and reshaped would look better than that! Would it not be possible to scan this Tamtech mold and go from there? I'm probably being far too optimistic. Just a thought.

I always start with the hardest part on really challenging models. That saves a lot of time, because if that doesn't work, all the time and effort beforehand is wasted. With the Italeri Lancia it's the cockpit. which looks awful! After the cockpit was finally finished in 3D, I bought the model. My special thanks to Iceman 29 @Iceman 29 who gave the cockpit the right look with Fusion 360. I cut off the cockpit roof! It looks good without the "bubble" The headlights and the air slits above the fender have also to be reshaped. The new cockpit looks fantastic, I hope that I can do it nearly as well in real terms in 1/24 scale! I hope that this project will end successfully! Regards Andreas
