  1. Hello all, Here's my just finished Airfix Meteor F.8, done as a Fokker built one, as used by 325 Squadron at Woensdrecht Air Base between 1951 and 1956. Markings came from a Dutch Decal sheet, with the stencils from the kit. I replaced the pitot tube with a metal one from Master. Painted with MRP (the green and PRU Blue) and Mr. Color (the grey). I enjoyed the build very much, except the nose, which fits poorly, and you have to install the nose gear quite early during the construction, including the door. I didn't put the door in place before adding the nose cone, so it wouldn't fit properly when I tried to put it in place later. I cut away a bit of the door, so it doesn't look quite right. Ah well. Thanks for looking! Pete
  2. Hi All, This is Italeri's 104 with Reskit exhaust, Master pitot, Eduard wheels and seat. A few additions here and there but otherwise a straightforward build. The kit has its pros and cons and I think others have already given enough feedback about it. This plane was based in Leeuwarden (Netherlands) during the late 70' - early 80'. "D-8115" markings are paint otherwise I used the (top-notch) decals from the box. Paint is AK Real. Cheers Tristan
  3. Been a while since I've posted as I've been busy with sorting out the house. Major works going on since May and now my builder has covid so i've cleared the decks in the workshop for some light building. So I know i'll get a ribbing for this thats for sure but what the hell (Tiger on Temp hold ------- Dont worry, i'll be back on it soon) Quite a few years ago popped down to see Ant Phillips @AntPhillips and the generous chap gave me this little kit as a gift. It had been started but not very much at all - you could say more taken off the sprues than any real building. I've played with this kit over the years and chopped it about with a view of making one of the Dutch Airforce Vipers that i have seen and worked with whilst on tour. I've got some decals and AM bits to pop into this build, I missed the GB as i couldn't commit, just too much work going on in the house. Aires Office area that i'll use. Pilot torso is from the kit, helmet is from the Hasegawa F-16D block 50 kit, made some alterations of the figure. Life vest etc Had models wheel wells, these were fun as the one part that was assembled was the intake - I had to take it apart to get the nose gear bay in and had much fun in doing so, the plastic had became very brittle over the years. Eduard wheels made for the tamiya kit but fit a treat with some modifacation to the kit hubs. Tail end, Wolfpack resin for the Tamiya kit - extended parabrake , altered to fit the Hasegawa kit. It was only slightly wider than the Hasegawa tail so a touch of sanding back was required. A few bits to hang off the pylons - Eduard Brassin bits. Modified ECM 131 pylon, cut down drop tank centre line pylon. It will get some sway braces yet . Wingtip launchers, LAU-128's for AIM120's Robbed from a another Hasegawa F-16 kit. Flaps cut out so I can drop them later. Back end details - PW exhaust i think ? And the decals , stencils from for a Greek F-16 look to be the same as the Dutch Vipers, these are very well detailed decals. Lets see what an Armour modeller can do with this little lot !! Enjoy.
  4. Hello, Here's my Kinetic 1/48 NF-5A in Royal Dutch Air Force markings. I started this kit in november last year, but it was put on hold for a while because I was waiting for some rocketpods that I wanted to put on the wings. Sadly, fate wouldn't let me have these, so I opted for some recycled Hasegawa Mk.82 Snakeyes instead, that I turned into inert ones. These kits came with a mold flaw in the clear parts, and the wingtip fueltanks are identical, not mirrored like the real ones. I emailed to Luckymodel, and they provided me with correct parts for a small fee. The instrument panel is not correct for a NF-5A, but who's going to notice. I did change the leading edge flap a bit, to make it more like the NF-5 ones. I used MR Paint on it, and Dutch Decal markings to make it like a 314 Squadron one, based at Eindhoven AB. The big E was applied for the 1978 Tactical Air Meet at Wildenrath. The real K-3047 later went to the Hellenic Air Force. Thanks for looking, I hope you like it.
  5. Hi! This is an earlier build of mine and I'd like to show You. Actually You see a restart. Something gone wrong and I had to deconstruct the kit, remowe the painting with NaOH, and so on. After all I an say it did not worth the effort anyway. So I show it from the restart. The kit is generaly OOB just some modifications were made.
