  2. Hello Everyone, Hope all are doing fine and having a great time during this holiday season.... This new year I am thinking of starting a build that will challenge my limited skill sets. I was waiting for starting this kit as part of a Group Build, But I realized that the time limit would not be sufficient for me to complete the build. So I am starting a new build thread for the first time. Hope I will be able continue and complete the build without creating another shelf queen this year... The kit I have is the 1/48 scale Skunk Model's package of Italeri kit... First off, I am not a big fan of side opening box and the box is so flimsy, By the time it reached, the box had a fair share of bumps and Kinks. But luckily no permanent damages and no missing pasts as far as I am aware... All the Sprue are in one bag and extra bits added by the skunk models and Decals are in a separate bag. Two sprues of clear parts. And I understand this is the weakest point for this kit. Most of the clear parts have very poor fitment it seems, as indicated in various build threads. As you can see, few of the pieces have got separated and have few hairline scratches. The details on the fuselage are decent. There are shallow panel lines, some raised details. Hope I could retain as much as possible by the time we deal with all the gaps and sanding... Not many sprues and part count is reasonable But most of the bits looks tiny and fiddly. The instructions are horrible. Need a lot of references and the build threads will be of great help I think... One sample instruction for dash.... So this will be a very slow build and request your help by adding your comments when ever you have time. Feel free to share your views and your build threads, pictures etc... I am new to Aircraft build and this is my first Chopper build... I am sure I will make lot of mistakes and mess up the build. Hope to have the energy to recover and continue to closure.. Thanks in advance for all the support Have a wonderful year ahead.... Mukund

  6. Hi everyone and here’s my latest build finished for a TV/Movie-themed GB. My first ever USCG scheme with a couple of goofs here and there but I learned a lot doing it and had fun - maybe a HH-3 Pelican next time! There are some details missing as per the 1/1 scale a/c but I'm not losing sleep on those and happy with how she turned out. You can read the full WIP here but just to recap: Kit: Hobby Boss HH-60 USCG Jayhawk Scale: 1/72 Decals: From kit. Air Station Elizabeth City, North Carolina - “First in Flight, First in Service”. Build: Scratchbuilt rescue kit/radio rack for cabin interior (mostly unseen!); seat belts from tape; centre console detail; shortened main landing gear, modified main rotor blades. Paints: Halfords white (sprayed); Brush painted Vallejo Acrylic ‘Vermillion’ and Revell Acrylics for all other colours. Flory Models Wash. Future Thanks for looking! Dermot
  7. Inspired by Rick's excellent 1/48 scale Jayhawk here on the forum, I'm also building one albeit in 1/72 scale for a 'TV & Movies' group build. This is the Hobby Boss kit.. What you get in the box.. And while you get seats for the cabin, you don't get much else in the way of rescue kit. So scratchbuilt most of that from odds and ends in the spares box. From left to right in the back, a marker buoy thing, some bags, a radio rack, radios and fire extinguisher (kit seats in the front obviously!) Cabin floor masked up for the anti-slip strips...before.. And after.. Thanks for looking. Dermot
