  1. I finished this several weeks ago, but never got around to putting it in RFI. The build log can be found here; https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235044294-israeli-improvised-armoured-car/&page=1 Thanks for looking. John.
  2. I am calling this finished. It is Italeri's Hybrid Tiger1 in a fictitious scheme. I replaced various parts of the original kit with spares from Dragon, Tamiya, AFV Club, and other Tigers as they were better detailed. Figures are out of the spares box, I believe they are Tamiya, and the tracks are from an AFV Club kit, but I'm not too happy with how they came out Tamiya acrylics were used to paint the model, the figures being done with Humbrol enamels. how to screen capture image hosting site no sign up photo hosting free photo upload upload a picture image hoster forum image hosting how to take a screenshot on a pc Hope you like and thanks for looking
  3. I always liked the look of the Panthers fitted with extra armour plate to the turret roof and engine deck, so when I had the opportunity to get the Italeri kit featuring the add on armour I jumped at the chance! The kit isn't of the quality of Dragon or Tamiya, but it is a good kit and fits together reasonably well. I used a dental burr to roughen up the armour plate, and a pyrogravure gave the weld seams and torch cut edges a better look. The instructions would have you paint the add on armour in the same scheme as the rest of the tank, but I like the contrast of the armour painted in red oxide primer. I could not get the kits individual link tracks to stick together so I used a set of spare vinyl tracks. The Sand yellow is Tamiya acrylic and the rest of the paints are Humbrol enamels. Various filters and washes were applied along with chips and scratches. The commander figure is from dragon and he too was painted with Humbrol enamels. I plan to place it on a base with some more figures. adult image host imagehost picture uploading image host image hosting 15mb image hosting free uploading images image ru upload pictures online image hosting 20mb Thanks for looking
  4. I built Italeri's Sherman as I fancied one with wading trunks. I know it is meant to have water proofing around the main gun, hull machine gun, and various vents, but I didn't have the time, or the inclination! I added stowage from the spares box and a crew from Verlinden. The M2 Browning came from the Academy American machine gun set, as did the 30 cal machine gun barrels. I used Tamiya acrylics and Humbrol enamels to paint my Sherman. Weathering was achieved with filters and washes, along with Mig pigments and some airbrushed dust cotes. Thanks for looking.
  5. As a change from Afrika Korps armour I decided to build this. Virtually out of the box, except for replacing the kit tarpaulin with one made from tissue paper soaked in PVA, adding some wiring for the headlamps and horn and I replaced the blob of plastic on the sight with an etched ring site. I'm in the process of painting the two resin crew figures that come with the kit. A very straight forward build, no problems at all. I used Humbrol enamels throughout, and had a great time weathering the machine. free photo hosting 20mb image hosting image hosting 15mb images screen capture freeware free uploader screen shot software 20mb image hosting Thanks for looking
  6. I've always wanted to add a Bergepanther to my collection. Italeri have had one on their catalogue, on and off for a few years. However Italeri's kit leaves a bit to be desired in places. So to improve things I added Verlinden's update set which replaces the whole interior and I used Bronco's tracks to replace those horrible ones that come with the kit. The rest of the items came from my spares box. I used Humbrol enamels to paint and weather the Bergepanther and I made the mud using patching plaster and acrylic paints. Thanks for looking.
  7. Hi Everyone, thought I`d show you some pic`s of my latest AFV build Italeri 1/35th LVT-2 Amtrac, done as a vehicle from and Unknown Unit, Saipan, 1944 Built OOB, only addition being the whip antenna The colour took me by surprise as I was expecting Olive Drab or a Green colour scheme and was also surprised as how big they were. Hope you enjoy looking at.
  8. This is the Italeri DUKW I used Eduard's etched set to refine the details and I re-did the rivets with my punch and die set (Die is appropriate after all those blasted rivets!) The crew are from tamiya's Dragon wagon and the stowage is from various accesoty sets and the spares. I did not repace the undersized wheels or close up the drainage holes because when I built the model, I was unaware of the problems with them. Life Color acrylics and Humbrol enamels were used to paint and weather the model. Thanks for looking.
  9. Italeri's M47 Patton is an old, but sound kit. The only things I added was a figure from Verlinden, some clear lenses from MV and I replaced the kit's M2 Browning with one from the Academy set. I also added some kit bags and ammo cans. I used Tamiya acrylics to paint it and I used their textured paint and Mig pigments to weather the model. Thanks for looking.
  10. This is the old Italeri kit. For its age it is a decent little model with some fine detail. I used Eduard's etch set to help refine the detail. The folded stretchers are resin ones from Resicast. I added other details using wire, and plastic card and other bits and pieces. I painted the ambulance with Humbrol enamels and rather than use the kits decals for the red crosses, I painted them on. With a couple of figures to give a sense of scale: Thanks for looking.
