  2. Aeropoxy retooled Rogožarski IK-3 1/32nd resin kit is coming soon. Source: https://www.facebook.com/121276231237463/photos/a.122285194469900.12687.121276231237463/866137450084667/?type=1&theater V.P.
  3. Rogožarski IK-3 Monographs Special Edition in 3D ISBN : 9788365437808 Kagero via Casemate UK By the mid 1930s it was evident that the monoplane designs of the time were going to supersede the current biplanes. This was evident to the then Yugoslav Forces. The Rogožarski IK3 was to be low wing monoplane designed by Ljubomir Ilić, Kosta Sivčev and Slobodan Zrnić as a successor to the high winged Ikarus IK-2. The main armament was to be a hub firing 20mm cannon augmented by two fuselage mounted & synchronised Machine Guns. Due to delays only 6 aircraft were operational by the time German Forces invaded in 1941 out of a planned 48. 2 Aircraft survived the invasion and were destined for the puppet Independent State Of Croatia, however due to subterfuge by the resistance the Germans were fooled into scrapping these. The IK-3 design would later form the basis of the post war Ikarus S-49 following the 1948 Tito/Stalin split. This book from Kagero has 182 pages, 194 colour profiles, 130 archival photos, 28 modelling plans, and a fold out A2 double sided set of plans. The 3D drawings are especially detailed. Conclusion This is very much a complete look at largely forgotten Rogožarski IK3. The aircraft was a good one but produced too late, and in too few a number to make any difference. Highly Recommended. Review sample courtesy of
  4. Howdy, folks! Here are my finished IK-2 and IK-3, Yugoslav pre-WWII planes. These brothers were made late 30s, very different designs and still very similar. IK-3 took part in air defense of Belgrade in April 1941. and had 11 wins with 4 casualties over Reich's Bf109s... Unfortunately, there wasn't enough of them for that defense to have any chance of success, out 12 produced only 6 were operational and after a few days the two remaining were captured and scraped. Heartbreaking... IK-2 was mostly stationed in Bosnia at the time and surviving ones were given to Croat Air Force. As for models themselves, mostly build out of box, Azur Frrom did a decent job with them. IK-2 was given a bit of details in the cockpit and not much more than that (save the wires on the outside, mentioned in instructions). There are a few inaccuracies outside, most of which can be easily fixed. Canopy could have been done better (goes for IK-3 also), but it's not completely useless. I wasn't going for 100% accuracy, so it didn't bother me much... IK-3 saw a bit more work in cockpit, seat and belts were made from scratch, as were side details. There were some touch-ups on the outside of both, mostly opening exhausts and intakes, IK-3 legs also got a bit of pedicure... More on this can be found in WIP thread... Thanks for watching... Cheers!
  5. My last of the 2013, AZ Model's Rogozarski IK-3 indigenous Yugoslav pre war fighter. 12 of those were in use in the april war when Germany invaded Yugoslavia. Painted after some old pix I found on some ex-yu websites and magazines. The model itself was not the easiest one around, and is missing a lot of small details such as balancing weights for ailerons, gun sights and small antenna mast on the vertical tail. Some shape issues were also discussed on the Yu forums, but I chose to disregard them and do it as simple as possible. Painted with Gunze H314 for the undersides, and Tamiya acrylics XF-64 Red Brown, HF-58 Olive Green over XF-60 Dark Yellow for the uppers. Wash from AK Gray deck washes for ships range, which I found it accidentally and can really recommend it, and MM matt cote sealed this one off. Well enough babbling, here she goes: Wish you all a happy and productive New Year
