Hi everybody, I am at the moment more or less finishing the Mirage IIICJ from Modelsvit (1:72). Following the kit's instructions I painted the wheelwells, the interior of the landing-gear doors and the landing-gear legs aluminium. I guess that is basically correct for French jets of this era. However, now I have seconds thoughts. Is this correct for a camouflaged Israeli Mirage? More specifically, I am building a post-1973 aircraft with the large black/yellow triangles on wings and tail. Photos of IDF Neshers from the same time frame seem to show landing-gear doors painted in a white colour. On Youtube I found a walkaround of a Mirage IIICJ in the Israeli Air Force Museum where these parts also look white or even light blue like the underside of the aircraft (so much dirt and dust that it is hard to tell). So what do you think? Are Modelsvit's instructions wrong or not? Thanks in advance! Ole

1/72 Douglas A-4E "Ahit", Heyl Ha'avir
Creepy Pete posted a topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Hello, Here's my just finished 1/72 Fujimi A-4E Skyhawk. I used Armycast decals (very nice!) to do it as an ex-US Navy A-4E with 110 Squadron in 1973, before it got the extended tailpipe and DEFA guns. I added some M117's from Brassin on the MER on the centreline, the LAU-10's on the wings are from the kit. The green, brown and grey are Humbrol, the sand color is ModelMaster. Thanks for looking, I hope you like it.- 10 replies

Hello It's really a long time I haven't entered in a group build here. This time I have chosen an early F-4E in Israeli Defense Force in 1973. To build this aircraft I have selected in my stash the Revell F-4F which has nearly everything to make a Kurnass (Sledgehammer). Actually, I had to take from a Fujimi kit the sloted stabilators as the F-4F did not have those. Here is the box art and first pictures of the build will follow soon. Cheers. Patrick

Hi all, This was one of the last models I managed to finish in 2016, though it has been in very slow progress for about 5 years. It's the Hasegawa 1/48 TA-4J built to represent a TA-4J of the IDF/AF's Flying Tigers squadron. The build was basically OOB, only the extended exhaust from Quickboost and additional antennas from scratch. Markings came from Isradecal and Hobbycraft for the Shield of David. It's been an enjoyable build and I hope you enjoy the pics as much as I've enjoyed the journey.
