  1. When this STGB was first mooted I had a hankering to build a Crusader but when I was rummaging around the stash I came a cross this long-forgotten kit. A further bit of digging turned up the references and the decal sheets so I decided I'd go for it and build it... ...as an A7K. Although boxed as a TA-7C, the bits are there (well mostly), to make an A-7K (in fact the TA-7Cs prominent drag chute fairing is missing from the kit so strictly speaking you can't make a TA-7C from the kit either but that's easily sorted). The kit contains the AAR fairing which goes on the spine of the A-7K but unfortunately, it looks a bit anaemic to me, I'm undecided whether to do anything about it though. A resin replacement would be good, failing that a decent set of plans which could allow a replacement to be 3D printed, we'll have to see what it looks like when properly offered up to the kit. My current plan is to make a Puerto Rico ANG (PRANG) aircraft like this one, but I may change my mind later. Here's the kitbox... The contents... Some of the extra bits (Xtradecals for the markings and NeOmega Escapac seats)... And finally, the references... I've just ordered some replacement A-7D wheels to replace the naval type wheels and some stuff to tart up the cockpit (the kits provide decals but I don't like 'em) Off to make a start soon.
  2. As usual I've gone a bit overboard with kits for a group build, but this time I might actually finish one or two. I have an Akan paint set for late war Russian attack/bomber aircraft so while I'm taking a comfort break from the Toldi, this is going to be a very public test mule for how they work. I picked up this kit while I was in my LMS looking for artillery and suitable Russian green paint. It is the typical HB Easy Kit in that it combines a low number of toy like huge parts for the main airframe with some really nice moulding on the detail (hollow exhausts and intakes for example). Here are some pictures: Note the green/black colour scheme on the box is only relevant for the first 80 aircraft operating before August 1943, so my paints are fine, especially given the decals are for a famous aircraft that became operational in late 1944. The Moskva looks to be the wrong colour, but since alternative decals are non-existent, I'm just going to live with it. This is the correct scheme for those markings: http://mig3.sovietwarplanes.com/tu-2/misos/moskva32/moskva32.htm Finally, here are the paints. I have heard good things about colour accuracy and they seem to brush OK, so I have high hopes. Let's rock Andy
  3. Hi, Here is my MiG-3. I did a bit of additional work in the cockpit and added a bit of riveting. Nice kit which is straightforward to build. Thank you for looking.. Cheers Plasto
  4. This is my first elicopter; Hobby Boss kit isn't, as inrteriors detail, a good kit; then I rebuilt cockpit ad added some little panel on fuselage. I don't know if there is an Italian modeling magazine called "Sky Modeln" in England but in the December there will be my article about this helicopter. Here snowing now ! byeeee Ettore
