  1. Okie, Here is my Kuwaiti Hornet. I fell pretty hard for their particular scheme It is built OOB, thus a closed canopy. The model felt as a copy of the Hasegawa Hornet with some strategically differences as not to be called a copy Anyway, it went together nicely and without too much putty. The photography went so so and the pictures are pretty dark, lightly edited in PS Bridge.... hadn't got around to Lightroom yet in those days. Here are the pics however Cheers!
  2. Let's get that dirty northern russian Flanker onstage then Rather happy with how the Flanker turned out..of course there are small issues here and there but on the whole I´m pleased. It got me a Brons at C4 at Malmö so I guess others like it too ( it didn´t get squat here in gothenburg in september ... guess they didn´t like it ) It was a very pleasing build, it went together nicely and the small incorrections in the kit itself were survivable. I added a wee bit of aftermarket to it like engines, bang seat, pitot tube and static dischargers (that seem to fall
  3. Yeah, i'm a kind of "Tornadaholic"! I'm already building a Tonka for the "a kit you built as a kid" GB, now it's time to double the trouble. This is my new poject: a Saudi Gr.1 using the Hobby Boss kit. I know is not the best game in town, but i have this kit in my stash and it's time to build it. With a little help from sme resin bits: aires whell bays and airbrakes, master pitot tube, resim wheels. I'm waiting for eduard's Boz and Sky Shadow and a Print Scale decals sheet to make a saudi aircraft I will use also some parts from an aborted Revell bu
  4. The A6 Intruder is one of my all time favourites. When I found the camoflage scheme that the VA-165 Boomers trialed in the 1980's , it was a done deal. The scheme and decals were produced by Fighter town and I managed to source a set of these out of production sets. Using the fantastic Hobby Boss A6E release along with a resin cockpit from Wolfpack I used my Silhouette Cameo 3 cutter to reproduce the markings in a mask format to make this iconic aircraft.
  5. Hi Guys, I have changed my mind and want's to do a different build over here instead of the Wildcat mk V. I have a Hobby Boss 1/48 Grumman F-6F-5N in my stash and after seeing a article over here that the FAA also flew some of those. I wanted to build one. I have got no direct decals for this, but luckely I have a set from SAM for FAA markings. This will be helpfull to do my own markings. It will be build straight out of the box with only the adition of decals and some seatbelts from MDC. Here are the pictures of the box content. Cheers,
  6. Hi All, First off the bench in 2013 is my attempt at the Hobby Boss 1/48 Grumman Wildcat - the early F4F-3 version. I chose this because I wanted to have a go at some pre-war US colours. I seem to have used a lot of brown, green and grey recently so it was a nice break to introduce some colour to things. My WIP thread is here WIP and, overall, I really enjoyed building this kit and can recommend it. Not quite add glue and shake it, a la Tamigawa but nice to build nonetheless. Most seams needed no or very little filler and fit was very good overall apart from a couple of annoying areas that I
  7. Hi All, I've never done a WIP before but now that I have some extra time on my hands I thought I'd give it a go. It certainly makes me think about the build more than I probably would normally. Next up on the bench for me is the Hobby Boss 1/48 scale Wildcat F4F-3 which I will finish in the early colours of USS Wasp CV-7. I'm currently fascinated by pre-war colour schemes and US aircraft were particularly jazzy. Here's the box shot showing the colours I'm aiming for as well as a few sprue shots... I've made a start on the cockpit - dryfit shot followed by glued and painted... I've n
