  1. This is my first ever GB, so I may not finish it in time , but I'll try my best. I'm going to try to do Gen. Richthofen's Storch if I can find out code letters, or Löhr's if not. This its for a planned Schwerer Gustav dio, with this landing/ taxying next to it, on an improvised strip. As you will see in the photos, I have done a bit of the cockpit, and a bit of fuselage painted, but it is otherwise unstarted (I hope this is ok). This'll probably be mostly OOB, pics will be up soon, by the weekend at the latest. Also, anyone with info on the markings of Wolfram Richthofen's Storch, that would be very useful, as the only in-flight pic I've found is this- You can just about make out the camo demarcation lines and the fuselage band (just fore of the leading edge of the tailplanes), but I cannot see any codes. Thanks in advance, Seabo14
  2. Hi, what scale is a Sea King helicopter from Heller Humbrol Bobcat / Bobkit? Not Airfix tooling but snap fit from Heller mould. Is it 1/72 like their Super Puma Cougar and other Bobkit kits (Transall, OH-6, Harrier T4, F-16 and Phantom) or is out of scale? Thanks
  3. Hello people This is my first RFI. I feel strange in putting it here as it is the last model I completed. The thing is, I completed it 13 years ago. I was in the UK then and I didn't know much about the internet modelling wise. At the time I relied utterly on my LMS. That was M.G. Sharp Models of Attercliffe Road in Sheffield, the city I was living in then. I had started modelling again for the first time since 1979 as I had become a widower and, well, thought I needed to find something pleasurable and nostalgic of better times upon which to focus my thoughts My first model upon returning to the hobby was an Airfix Mosquito. I have to say, it wasn't easy! Nothing fitted very well and I found myself buying filler for the first time since the age of 13.. I also did the Australian all silver option, meaning, sand, fill, smooth...and repeat. I got there though and it builds into a lovely model doesn't it, not at all bad for an old Airfix? I had been to Spain in a professional context (1989) and really loved it. I had been introduced to the recent history of Spain, above all, as I went to Barcelona, I became aware of the very recent Spanish Civil War. As time progressed, back in 2003-2006, I researched this from a personal interest point of view, rather than anything to do with work/profession. I loved the intrigue I found. Clandestine air forces (Russian, German and Italian), aircraft being smuggled in from Mexico, 'Golden Age' art deco passenger aircraft being used as bombers! Anyway, this little Heller Bf 109 B was about the best I could manage at the time. I know now it might be classified as a B1. I also know this kit isn't 'rivet counter' perfect, but I can tell you, I utterly enjoyed making it. It is a pleasure to build and yes, it is almost 'Shake 'n' Bake'. It goes together so well, extremely little filler is needed and if one is fine with raised panel lines; they don't need to be sanded away. This is a model of BF 109 B1 6*16 of Legion Condor 2J/88, based at Vittoria, Spain as it would have appeared late March 1937. It is based on a Profile shown on page 130 of 'Jagdwaffe', Luftwaffe Colours; Volume one section 2, 'The Spanish Civil War' by E. Mombeek with J.R. Smith & E.J. Creek. Classic Publications, 1999, ISBN 0-9526867-6-7. The transparencies are kit parts, absolutely lovely, clear and in three parts. I have tried to build the Avis/AML/Amodel (all the same) BF-109 B/C/D/V3-4 prototypes and I can honestly say that I feel time is far better spent 'tarting up'/rectifying this Heller kit to the level you desire. The other kits, and the Aeroplast kits, simply don't cut the mustard (this is Britmodeller isn't it? ). The model is OOB with the exception of decals. I used the kit round black spots and wing spots/crosses then handpainted numbers and tail cross with the help of Tamiya masking tape cut finely (using slightly lightened Humbrol 33). All colours were enamel. I still have a jar of (useable) grey-green colour from this build! I mixed the grey/green. Why this shade? I have no idea, it seemed right at the time . It is a long time ago, I may have done 6*16 as I was pretty sure it was the first number Bf-109 B To be a real 'B'. I guess it should have the Hamilton propellor, but I just thought; "First use of Bf-109, Spain, anything could and would have happened in war, regularly". I still think that about all wartime aircraft to be honest. Also, it isn't an 'A', prototype or anything else with long leading edge slats, the Heller kit has the shorter slats, so 6*16 seemed a reasonable compromise. It is completely brush painted, even the varnish. I liked the way the Humbrol Matt varnish sealed the decals, and I also liked that the kit roundels didn't silver onto an, essentially, satin coat with no decal solvents (I didn't know they existed). No weathering - I simply didn't (and don't) know how to do it, and I also think at the time, there may have not been many washes/tints/other trendy things on the market? Enough chat, here it is, I hope it is bearable, perhaps likeable as a window into what was ok 13 years ago? Thanks to The Spadgent for encouraging me to post this Port view I forgot, I stole the 'Top Hat' from an RPM Bf-109 E-1 Legion Condor kit. Starboard..hmm, the Humbrol Matt coat went a little white, as seen over the black roundel. Nice big prop . I hand painted the canopy. I can see the paint was too thin. Never mind, I was happy at the time. Thanks for reading All best regards and happy modelling Tony Edited for spelling a friend's moniker incorrectly
  4. Mirage 2000N EC02.004 ‘La Fayette’ Part of the ‘Ramex Delta’ presentation at RIAT 2015 This is the rather old Heller kit with various updates and modifications. These included some wing re-scribing, addition of Aeroclub white metal seats which themselves needed modifying, addition of chaff/flare dispensers at the wing root trailing edge and new ECM antennas on the fin. I included a full weapons fit for the nuclear strike role mainly because a recent Syhart decal sheet provided the colour scheme and decals for the ASMP nuclear missile carried under the fuselage, and included in the Heller kit. The Matra Magics under the outer wings came from another kit – the Hobbyboss Rafale kit I think. Markings were for Mirage 2000N No.356 / 125-BX which was one of the aircraft at Fairford in July 2015 for RIAT, and flew as part of a demonstration called ‘RAMEX Delta’. Decals were from a number of sources including roundels and stencils from the Revell / Italeri Mirage 2000C sheet, codes, serials and ‘Armee De L’Air’ from a Syhart sheet. Another Syhart sheet of badges provided the ‘La Fayette’ Red Indian’s head insignia for the starboard fin, and the CFAS insignia for the port fin (CFAS = Commandment des Forces Aeriennes Strategiques).
  5. Amera's S131 Airfix D-Day Coastal Defence Fort base alongside their S226 Coastal Assault with S228 D-Day Bunker and the Airfix A05702 D-Day Coastal Defence Fort. There is a Heller Pak-40 in the bunker. I can't recall where I got the beach obstacles from, but I scratched the long hedgehogs. There are a few Revell and Matchbox German figures mixed in with Airfix German Infantry, Paratroops and Mountain Troops, and Airfix British Infantry and Commandos.
  6. Hi all! I just want to share with you the things I have been doing to a 1/72 Heller F-16 A/B old issue, I got this kit to tinker with it and learn well... everything! I haven't done any aircraft modelling in a really long time and last time it was just a gluey mess with pieces of plastic attached to it. So I decided to go for a cheap kit and learn all the basic and try some advance stuff as well. This kit has raised panel lines which I decided to sand down and scribe them with a tamiya pea cutter I am also doing the riveting bit by bit using a small 0.3mm drill bit. I will get some pics when I have some more done. I also got inspired by the fantastic work of Diego Quijano detailing a F-18 also on a 1/72 scale. The more I work on my F-16 the more respect I got for the level of complexity and the attention he put on his model! I have been working during the past week in detailing the landing gear bay and getting it to a more interesting level and the original kit had absolutely no detail whatsoever. Here are some pictures of it: Still want to do some more cable work and also start working on the landing gear per se to detail it a bit more. I am also thinking in cutting some part of the fuselage to scratch build some of the internal bays. Any comments/suggestions are more than welcome. Thanks! and all the best
  7. Sorry for the late arrival. Planning on building the Heller Gladiator into a Maltese Sea Gladiator. The original decals are missing but are hopefully on the way from Black Knight. Not built a biplane in years and never had a go at rigging one so lots to learn, which is where you guys come in ! Need to do my homework now, what paints, patterns and rigging..... Cheers Pat
  8. Heller programme 2016. Source: Source: http://www.cybermodeler.com/news/heller.shtml no new tool a/c kit... The 1/72nd DDB Alpha Jet project is now reported postponed or cancelled. Wait and see. http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234934783-heller-172nd-alpha-jet-new-tool/ V.P.
  9. So here we go, fresh from building 'La Seine' it's time to get cracking with the Joan. Oblig Box shot As you can see it's the final configuration version, with Resin and PE. Speaking of PE And the resin And just for comparison. Just waiting for the glue on the hull to set before I look at how many gaps there are. I'm also trying to find the charger cable for one of the old cameras so this should be the last awful photo of mine you see. Thanks for looking
  10. Hello, I would like to present my Heller 1/72 Aérospatiale SE-3160 alouette III operated by the Lebanese Air Force (القوات الجوية اللبنانية‎ Al Quwwat al-Jawwiya al-Lubnaniyya) L-220 C/N 1393. Unfortunately I don't have much more info than that. I've found two photos on the internet of this particular aircraft; it looks like it has had a VIP fit. This was built as part of the Lesser built airforces Group build here If you haven't checked it out I recommend you do as there is an eclectic and colourful mix of aircraft. If you are interested, the build thread for this can be found here There a number of things that I wish I had done differently and on closer inspection a few flaws with the paint and finish (you may notice a crack on one of the front doors and some silvering on the decals) but overall a very enjoyable build and I'm happy with it. Cheers Aaron
  11. R81 ROYAL NETHERLANDS NAVY AIRCRAFT CARRIER HR.MS. KAREL DOORMAN Short History: Type: Light Fleet Carrier. Admiralty Job Number J3697 / Yard Number 1126 She was laid down on 3 December 1942, by the yard Cammel Laird & Co Ltd. Birkenhead. Completed: 17 January 1945 Service Record: HMS Venerable Royal Navy 17 May 1945 - 28 May 1948 March 1945-March 1947: British Pacific Fleet (BPF). Liberation of Hong Kong, repatriating thousands of former prisoners, soldiers and equipment, between Fremantle, Bombay, Batavia and Singapore. In 1948 sold to the Dutch Government. ----- Hr.Ms. Karel Doorman Royal Netherlands Navy 28 May 1948 - 8 October 1968 1955-1958 extensive modernization, at Wilton-Feijenoord Shipyard in Holland. During this time she was fitted with a new steam catapult, an angled deck, and mirror landing sight, new island, massive mast and funnel, also ultra modern radar equipment, air search, height search, target acquisition, navigation and carrier controlled approach radar systems. These were all delivered by the famous electronic company Holland Signaal. (Now Thales) General information after major refit: Length: 214 meter. – Width: 34.80 meter. – Draft: 7.30 meter. – Displacement: 13800 ton. Two engine rooms, producing 40.000 HP- 2 screws – 1 rudder, – Max.speed 24.5 knots Armament: 10x 40 mm Bofors AA. – Crew: 1500 including air group. Air Group 1958-1962 Grumman Avengers, Hawker Siddely Sea Hawk-Sikorsky HO4-S3 (S55) Air Groups 1962-1968 Grumman S-2A Tracker- Sikorsky HSS-1N SeaBat. With only anti-submarine Trackers and Helicopters, the carrier became a Carrier Vessel Submarines (CVS). The carrier took part in many NATO exercises and was mainly operational in the Atlantic, Mediterranean and the Caribbean waters. One exception was a “Show the Flag“world deployment in 1960, lasting 7 months. During this trip the carrier transported next to its own air group also 12 Hawker Hunters (partly dismantled in the hangar) to the former Netherlands New Guinea, to boost the Dutch defences against the Indonesian so called Confrontation Politics. In 1968, she was severely damaged by a major fire in the engine room and subsequently sold to Argentina. “ARA 25 de Mayo” In service: 1 September 1969. A refit took place at the Wilton Feijenoord Shipyard. On her maiden trip to Argentina, the ship had her first encounter with the prototype of the British Sea Harrier, landing on her deck for a possible (ordering) interest from the Argentine Navy Officials. During the Falkland War (1982) the carrier was flagship of Carrier Task Force (CTF 79 /01-03 may 1982) and was indeed ordered by the Naval High Command to attack the British carrier battle group, after the precise location was detected by Grumman Trackers, operating from the carrier. Due to the fact, that a night strike was not possible by the A-4Q Skyhawk, and knowing to be detected, the British battle group moved to the east and out of range from the Argentines. In the year 2000, she was towed to Alang (India) to be broken up for scrap. The model, scale 1/400 Combination of Heller (Arromanches) plastic kit, enhanced with a resin set, etch set and decal set by www.Naval Models.com. These extensive sets make it possible to construct the carrier after the major refit. (Angled deck, new island, and new radar suite.) Construction: This multimedia kit needs a lot of TLC, especially connecting the resin to the plastic over large areas. A large etch set with radars, main mast, propellers, rotor blades, tail rotors, everything is included. Basically, the same items that were used during the real major refit Length in centimeter 56 / Width in centimeters 8+. The model is built full hull and placed in a wooden casing. This casing is then filled with molding powder and left alone for shrinking. After the water is dampened out of the powder, the difference (3mm) is then filled with liquitex gel and sculptured with a little spoon. This gel hardens out after 24 hours. Then it is studying the water pictures, to make the final choice on the colors. Hr.Ms. Karel Doorman entering Toulon harbor, 03 november 1967 The Diorama dated 03 November 1967: In October 1967, the Dutch Navy concentrated a Task Force that included eleven ships, including the carrier (flagship), destroyers, frigates, submarines, tanker and Fleet Air Arm assets for naval operations on the High Atlantic and the Mediterranean. The entry of the carrier into Toulon anchorage was the idea for the diorama (See text and pictures) www.vlaggeschipsmaldeel5.nl/html/2e_najaarsreis_1967 By arrival, two French Naval Tugboats are assisting the carrier to its anchorage. The carriers’ air group, consisting out of Squadron 4 and 8, are in full force (show the flag) ranged on the deck. Starboard and Port anchor are both “presented” and ready to fall in case of emergency or during the coming anchoring procedure. Lockheed Neptune (SP-2H/214) from Squadron 320 is making a low fly-past over the rear deck of the carrier. (Aircraft connected inside the plexiglas dustcover.) Hr.Ms. Karel Doorman entering the harbor of Toulon, 3 November 1967. The complete air group 12x Trackers and 8x HSS-1N are ranged on deck. Assisted by the French naval tugs Robuste and Hercules. The complete flight deck, including the island with flight control station, navigation and admiral bridge. Main mast with clearly visible in the top of the mast, the white TACAN (Tactical Airborne Navigation), target aquisition scanner, the large air warning scanners, the front height indicator radar from the Holland Signaal electronic company. Starboard and Port anchors are "Presented" ready for use in case of emergency or by the anchoring procedure. The naval tug "Hercules" is in the process of hauling in the towline from the carrier. The naval tug "Robuste" in position on the port side. Points of interest: The oil rig, salute battery, HSS-1N with folded tail and rotor blades, batsman position on the flight deck, including escape netting, and the stowed accomodation ladder under the the salute battery position. Clearly visible also the white life-rafts. Points of interest: Batsman position, salute battery platforms, oil rig, 2x HSS-1N Sikorsky ready for take off if necessary. On both sides of the elavator 2x HSS-1N with folded tail and rotor blades. The arrester wires 5 and 6 are repositioned, so that the elavator can be used in harbor. Points of interest: Flight control tower, carrier controlled approach radar (CCA), deck tractors, the port and starboard deck landing mirror sight,, the AA Bofors, deck winches on back side of the island for the handling of the derrick. Tracker "160" is lashed to the catapult. Notice full national markings and navigation lights including tail beacons on aircraft. Close up of the fast Blue and Red motorboats, the crash tender, deck landing mirror sight and the Trackers and HSS-1N Sikorsky's. Also the outrigger under the Blue motorboat in stowed position. Points of interest: The "Blue and Red" fast motorboats. The crash tender and the HF-MF communication antennas, connected in between the two mast. Under the AA gunplatform is the stowed accomodation ladder. On the side of the island can be seen the stowed derrick. This was used in harbor, or during transferring, or receiving oil. The winches to handle the derrick can be seen directly behind the island structure. Points of interest: The two grey height indicator radars for 360% coverage. In connection with the radar scan from the large black air warnings radars the operators know exactly height and position of incoming targets. Flag indicators: Command flag 1 star (Commodore on board) French flag (Visiting Toulon) Pilot on board and a speed indicator for other shipping in the area. All radars are in the "zero" position and turned off. Living near the WF dockyard at the time, each sweep of the big scanners in harbor would interfere with your personnel radio receiver at home. (1960's) Only the sea navigation radar is rotating. This is positioned between the front height scanner and the ADF equipment. Before heading to the French Naval Air Base Hyeres, Lockheed Neptune SP-2H "214" makes a low fly-past over the carrier. 13. Here is my PZL.23B Karaś (serial 44.62, code 610-K, number 5, 21. Bomber Squadron, Cracow-Rakowice airfield, September 1939) in 1/72 scale. It`s 13,44 cm (5,29") long and 19,37 cm (7,63") wide. Model was finished some years ago. It was based on old Heller kit, with use of 2 big and complicated PE sets from PART and with some scratch build. I engraved new panel lines. Main paints I used were Polish Khaki II and Polish Blue II from PACTRA (note how colors are changing in different light sources). Decals by Techmod. It was one of the hardest modelling work for me (so far), but I`m quite happy with final result.
  14. Hi folk,s another build for the French fancy GB.It was an old black boxing picked up for a fiver but for it,s age a nicely molded kit with no fit issues but poor decals which just about did the job with only a replacement tail numeral needed, just a little different from the sleeker WW2 types I,m uses to and quite a large plane to with a wingspan similar in size to a Swordfish. Thanks for looking.
  15. Hi folks,my second entry is this pair of inter -war types which should be here in a couple of days,French types from a French manufacturer so they definitely fit the bill,my only concern is what state the decal,s are in, hopefully as a lot of my kits come from King Kit,s large pre-owned stock they will be as good as all previous sets have been.
  16. Here goes for my first Ready For Inspection post. I used the venerable Heller kit with a few bits liberated from a High Planes kit. I brush painted it with xtracolour aluminium (X142) over the top of humbrol 56. I used FCM decals for the first time and they worked brilliantly apart from one which folded up upon itself. I don't know how I managed to recover it but I did. Anyway this Mirage represents a IIIEBR of the Brazilian Air Force from 1972. If you can see the photos, I guess I have tamed PhotoBucket. Thanks for looking. http://i1164.photobucket.com/albums/q566/Mark_Ascott/P1030810_zpshnfr38zf.jpg http://i1164.photobucket.com/albums/q566/Mark_Ascott/P1030807_zpsfekag5va.jpg http://i1164.photobucket.com/albums/q566/Mark_Ascott/P1030804_zpsrpvbz94d.jpg http://i1164.photobucket.com/albums/q566/Mark_Ascott/P1030801_zpsfpedkxcy.jpg http://i1164.photobucket.com/albums/q566/Mark_Ascott/P1030797_zpsphur8fho.jpg
  17. Welcome to my corner of the Bastille for the Britmodeller French Fancy Group Build! This is basically the old Heller/Airfix SuE, with quite a few bits of resin (of which more later), non-coloured etched brass, and decals for a single aircraft (#17, 17 Flotille) at two points in its career: one from BAN Landivisiau in August 2010 in the customary two-greys scheme, and one from Kandahar during its tour in June-July 2008 in a single-grey colour. Unfortunately, this makes for a very expensive package for an older kit –even the desperate throat-cutters on eBay won’t drop one for much under UK£55, but I really, really love the wee beast, so I hope a breath of sea air (from Afghanistan, yes...) will be well received in our little sewing circle! Having a Neomega cockpit to hand already, I picked up an ExtraTech brass package to fizz the thing up a bit more, foolishly thinking it would be a straight scale-up of their 1/72 outfit. It isn’t –the funky intake covers are missing for a start. Never mind, onwards and downwards...
  18. Dassault Rafale M – 11F Aeronavale Landivisiau, Brittany, 2015 1/72 Heller kit updated to current version – Syhart decals This one started life as a 15 year old Heller kit. Thanks to the superb Syhart decal sheet No 72-915 ‘Rafale B/C/M Standard Markings’ I was able to rescribe and update the kit. This was a bigger task than expected (as usual!) and included the addition of all sensors, ECM, chaff/flare dispensers, etc. Pylons and drop tanks came from the Hobbyboss Rafale B kit which was on the workbench at the same time. I must admit I didn’t add ALL the stencils provided by Syhart – I could only take so much of minute grey stencils on grey camo – but they’re all there on the sheet if you have the inclination and patience.
  19. Hi All, I have finally made a start. It's typical really, there are no GBs I am interested in and then three come along at once. This is my first French Fancy started. It is a kit of 23 parts, but I am not using the side windows or the undercarriage, so it is even fewer for my build. On Saturday it looked like this: The print work for the instructions and decals looks fairly new. The decals look really nice and the colour on the instructions is fairly vivid, but the mouldings of the kit? Oh dear This was to be a weekend build, but it will take a little bit longer. There were only 12 pieces to get to this stage, and six of those were undercarriage doors, more of which later. The cockpit will have the windows painted so there is no intention of trying to restore clarity. The transparency must be the equivalent of 20cm thick anyway, and there is no detail inside. Ooooh the lovely fit of the parts... how we long for it. Tamiairfigawa this aint. The huge rivet detail has been sanded right down and I am going to have a go at rescribing. Ok, so rescribing may not be to scale, but I will live with that. There are bits of plasticard under the wing to fuselage joint to bring the upper part of the wing level with the top of the fuselage, and there are bits of plasticard at the wing to boom joints to level the wing upper surfaces with the boom upper surfaces. The bits of plasticard to fill the other gaps are fairly obvious. I mentioned the undercarriage doors earlier. Well they are designed to be open only and they're flat, not the shape of the fuselage underside or the booms. The forward door for the main undercarriage is missing from the kit altogether, which is fine if you want the undercarriage down, which I don't. In the picture below you can see just how obtrusive the rivet detail really was. The doors have been fitted as a guide only. The doors will have filler built up on them and the filler will be shaped to match the contour of the booms. I am not really looking forward to that particular job. You can also see the huuge gap between the wing and the boom, the white being the plasticard spacer. The boom to wing gap will probably be filled with Vallejo putty, it is too awkward a place to get plasticard or filler in to. More later.....
  20. Here is my first entry for the GB: the Heller-Humbrol Museum Series Bloch 210. The MB.210 was the improved and modernised replacement for the MB.200 (an aircraft almost spectacular in its ugliness) and together with the Amiot 143 (just plain monkey-butt-ugly) it shared the honours of being the first bomber to open French hostilities against the Germans in World War II. The kit is the Museum Series release of 1986 but the original tooling dates back to 1967 - however in common with some of the Heller releases of the time it is nicely detailed and moulded, and aside from some prominent injection towers in places the parts look to have stood up to the passing years pretty well: There is only one decal option (which I think was standard for Heller Museum Series issues) for MB.210 No.76 'White 3' of the 12 Bombardment Squadron from 1940 - the decals include a large and pretty cool winged Aztec (or Egyptian?) snake for each side of the fuselage which I believe is the squadron badge. So with a week to go, you can pass your time here looking at the pictures, or feel free to ask any questions you might have about this aeroplane, French aviation of the 30's and 40's, how ugly this aircraft is, how unpleasant the flight characteristics might have been, whether you remember Plastic Bertrand or not; anything really. I don't promise an answer, much less a sensible answer, but we all like to feel someone cares, so I will try to pretend I do Cheers, Stew
  21. Hi everyone, having totally forgotten about the group build (our space-time concept is way off the beaten track...), I was abruptly reminded about it yesterday while browsing the Group builds section... Quite shameful, if I say so myself. So I am throwing my hat in the ring with the Heller Mirage III. It can be modeled as either the single seater © or double seater (. I am going for the Mirage IIIC. A single cockpit will be painful enough! Photos of the sprues are next. I am adding a couple of aftermarket accessories (Aires ejection seat, Master pitot probe and Eduard PE) I did start re-scribing the fuselage and wings during my last stint in the DRC's Middle of Nowhere... Purely to try and keep some sanity during the long, mosquito infested evenings... It did not work. After taking these pix I glued the wheels (in halves...) and the supersonic tanks, just as a warming up exercise... I have no idea as to whether I will finish it in time, but I intend having fun trying. Miracles have been known to happen! JR
  22. I digged deep down in my stash and found these. Airfix, and reboxed Airfix to the left and pure Heller to the right. They all represent prototypes and according to Alpha Jidé, the Airfix kit is spot on in measurements. But of course you can't build an english kit in a fancy french GB I'll go for the Heller kit with day-glo decals from ModelArt and Groupe Ecole 314 decals from ModelDecal if they're still usable, otherwise I'll grab set from FFSMC Productions. Airfix (top) vs Heller (bottom) Canopies, the frames on the Airfix bottom looks a bit softer. //SAU
  23. I see we have no jaguar paws tripping around here yet. I'll go for the Heller kit and markings from a Hi-Decal sheet. Not the best kit but still buildable. A did a small diorama some years ago based on the low-flying Jaguar that chopped a car roof in Oman,
  24. Hi all, First RFI for ages, i've been fiddling with this kit for so long i'm calling it a day despite some obvious flaws, such annoying things like i've lost both of the tiny probes that are on either side of the nose, have to do some after market research to see if I can get replacements (and my build skills need honing in various areas!). Its already had new main wheels from Mastcasters, pitiot tube from Quickboost and seat from Pavla. I got the kit from ebay unboxed and listed as a Jaguar A, when it arrived it was actually GR1/3 sprues with A decals & instructions, so fellow B'modeller John T kindly supplied some spare decals. Anyway, having a break from adding RBF tags while the suns out - so here it is... cheers Simon
