A placeholder for this GB from me. I put my name down for this build earlier in the year and here we are without a definite choice of kit until today! I have the stash on a spreadsheet (!) so I listed all the Heller kits - 24 in total with a couple of duplicates. I thought about a smaller kit as I have a few other build on at the moment and not sure I am need a big build - Constellation, DC6, Noratlas taking up the bench space just now - a Stratoliner has that privilege! OK enough of the waffle - not sure I saw any other Bf108 Taifun's on the list, so I will build at least one of these. A really attractive aircraft in my opinion and small without being fiddly I think. Not got the kit from the loft, but at least I know I have one in box 1 and 6..... Scheme to be decided ,but I favour Spanish Condor Legion or D- civil from the 30's Looking forward to the build. JP

Finishing straight for the two Heller GB Bf108's and the local club weekly build night, prompted me to get another Heller kit out and start building. Bought this in a 'new' boxing' about 20 years ago and thought why not - its a simple build again. Apologies to Jockney for copying him with the model and indeed the colours! Box and decals - great looking 1930s Frenchness! Sprues Definately Heller.... Two hours work - in between distractions of our Zoom meeting! Should be a nice easy build. JP

I'd like to enter this group build with the 1/72 Sud Aviation/Alouette Alouette III, which I notice no one else has picked yet, and I think is eligible as according to Scalemates it was first released in 1980 so is a Classic? Looks like new parts were added for the civilian versions in 1989 but I won't be using them anyway. I've just bought a recent re-boxing of this (from Creative Model's bargain 'damaged box' category on eBay): but perversely, even though it comes with a nice-looking modern decal sheet for the Gendarmerie (much the best I've seen in a Heller kit), I intending building it as a SA319 from the Armée de l'Air, using earlier Heller decals and/or yellow numbers/letters from ModelDecal 50 (intended for the Puma): Should be fun to build, I don't remember any major problems with the previous one I built (as a Naval SA-316B - hence my desire to build a contrasting Armée de l'Air version with the Astazou engine) Tim

Heller Gloster Javelin T.3, in the Heller/Humbrol box. Looks like I paid about $10.00USD for this, probably in the late 80s. I think I thought I was going to build a bunch of trainers, since in the same stash box that I hadn't looked in for years I found an Airfix Bulldog, a T-38, L-39, Alpha Jet, CT-114, etc. Guess I better get at it now!

I will be making the making the Heller 1/400 Jeanne D'Arc (81034): This is the 2014 re-boxing of a kit that was originally released in 1967, Product Number L870. This wasn't my first choice for this GB as I had lost my original kit which was a car. Apart from the car, the rest of my Heller kits are warships so here we are with the Jeanne D'Arc which ironically I had put in my "For Sale" box! It will be built strictly OOB, no rigging, extras or faffing about as I already have a groaning Shelf of Doom with incomplete ships all failing at the detailing stage (esp. PE). Having said that, this appears to be only the second ship on the Heller GB build list and the first warship so I had better finish it! Pictures of the contents will appear in due course but is unlikely that I will get much in the way of construction done until later in the month. Dave

This'll be fun. The Kora decal set comes with some resin aftermarket parts that I will not be using. The build will be OOB except for the decals and some scratch bits I may (or may not!) add. Obviously this will be a 500V, not a 501... That's it! What beautiful box-art! Sprue, etc... KORA aftermarket stuff... What number I choose...I have no idea yet. Ask me next week. --John

About 10 years ago I bought a bix cardboard box filled with about 25 unmade kits from a guy about 10 miles from me. I've made a couple of them since then but most remain in the stash either because the decals are shot or their subject matter doesn't quite fit with my "I only build aircraft from WW2" remit. This group build came along and gave me a reason to look at some of these kits as most of them are Smer reboxings of old Heller kits. I had assumed that by September 1939, the old MS225 was well out of service but some googling confirmed that they were still being used by what would come to be the Patrouille de France in 1959. In April 1939, they were still being used by the aerobatic team of Ecole de Perfectionnement de Pilotage, Salon-de-Provence. I understand this was the predecessor to Patrouille de France. https://avignonairshow2017.fr/histoire-de-la-paf/ I am going to build the MS225 with the colour scheme below. I wasn't able to find any other sources for the colour scheme of that period so I hope it is accurate of the period. Obligatory Box pic I'll be using the roundels and tail decals. Bagged Sprues Basic instructions There aren't many parts but they are reasonably detailed and there is hardly any flash.
