Hello everyone. This is my first WiP posting, and I'm using it as a means to encourage me to get the job done! All the raw materials are ready: Rummaging in the loft, I found the instruction sheet from my last attempt, when it was first released back in the sixties. Saw it in the window of the model shop which was conveniently next to my primary school. Had to have it - those markings did it for me. Am I weird or does anyone else keep all their instruction sheets?! My next posting could take a while! Haris
I don't suppose many of these get built nowadays, but there was a time when the various Aeroclub kits were the best available if you wanted to do any member of the Hawker Hart lineage. Recently John from Aeroclub was kind enough to hunt up a couple of his old decal sheets for me, which was a tremendous help in a scratch-build project, and so I thought I would dig out of store and build one of the old Aeroclub kits I have, by way of a small tribute to all he has contributed to our hobby. Hawker Demon 64 Squadron colours Shuttleworth Collection, Old Warden, 2014 This is a fairly rare thing for me - I'm usually a Lightning / Phantom / Buccaneer / Harrier / Hunter sort of modeller. A recent visit to Old Warden inspired me to do this one. I had had the old (ancient) Airfix Hawker Demon kit for years and years and never got around to it till now. I was also looking at doing a 229 OCU / 64 Sqn Phantom so this would seem to be a good companion for it. I'm no expert on pre-war stuff so I'm not sure about the accuracy of this, but I couldn't resist all that rigging and wiring! Go
