Hi all, Recently completed Airfix 1/48 Bae Hawk 100 series converted to a T2. Love the Airfix hawk, great kit. As I couldn't find anything much in the way of cockpit detail for the T2 I used parts of the Eduard etch set for the Typhoon, the control panels look close enough to me anyway, but I expect to be told otherwise! Still, looks better than the T1 panel supplied with the kit. Initially sprayed with Humbrol gloss black rattlecan until I realised how bad it was, had to sand down, re-spray with flat black and then gloss varnish, so not as shiny as I would like but not too bad. Decals are for 4 Squadron courtesy of Xtradecal. Hawk guys, please let me know if I have missed any other differences between the bog standard 100 and the T2. Still got some minor stencils to do. Cheers Simon

This is my first attempt at the Revell 1/32 Hawk. I think the biggest mistake I made was putting too much paint on and losing most of the panel lines under the primer. I wanted to make sure the red plastic did not bleed through though. Mostly oob but I did use a pre-painted etch set for the seats. The masking is also a bit questionable on the white fuselage stripe? Pitot is now a metal item as the fit one shown in these pics broke off. Decals are Xtradecal and paint is Xtracolour and Halfords, figure is from Mastercasters. I have another Hawk in the stash (close to the top as it is an enjoyable build) This will be done in the 2009 RAF benevolent fund scheme. I hope the future builds of this kit will be better as it was a steep learning curve with this one. Looking forward to the April release of Revell's Hawk as I believe it will be in grey plastic. Thanks for looking. I am always open to comment and critique. All the best, Steve.

Gents, Got a pass out of work so my lovely Fiancee, and my mate Simon went over to Wales as it looked like a nice day over there. We drove through some of the worst rain we had seen in a while (so I was told, I was alsepp in the back of the car from Birmingham to Welshpool!); once we got to Wales, the rain stopped and we were greeted with some decent weather all day. Not the best of shots, but we got some decent traffic through We did have a C-130J through but I have not had time to do those shots yet! So all in all an 18 hour day, 400 mile round trip and 10 passes by some of the RAF's finest - a good day in my eyes - it is just a shame the 7 - 9 F-15E's did not come down to play. I have one more days leave to take before the end of the year so I should be back again soon!
