The last of my 'Battle of Britain' builds, 'Falkes' (supposedly Galland) HA-1112 with the chevron and the victory marks. Built with both the three bladed prop for the static and taxiing scenes, and the 4 bladed prop for the flying scenes. While it may not be historically accurate, I've always loved the look of the HA-1112 in early Luftwaffe markings, it looks so 'shark' like ... Build log here. ... and the 3 blade prop ... One of the Spanish pilots posing with 'Falkes' machine ... Hope you like, thanks for looking, Colin

Here's the first of my double HA-1112 "Battle of Britain" movie builds. It is a highly modified Hobbycraft kit, built to go along with my previously posted Hurricane, and Spitfire from the movie (best aviation movie of all time, IMHO). Hope you like, thanks for looking, Colin build log: HA-1112 build ... please forgive so many pictures, but I'm rather happy with how it turned out!

Doing things the hard way is getting to be a habit with me, I guess. I had a Hobbycraft 'Civilshmitt' and an Academy HA-1112 kits in the stash and decided it was time to build them. They are the same plastic in both, but are very basic, and have some glaring inaccuracies. I decided to replace the windscreen with leftover Eduard's windscreens, this required narrowing the forward fuselage by about .040" and cutting out the triangular fuselage section ahead of it. Next step was to use some True Details resin cockpits, with some scratch built additions. The rocker covers were just rounded blobs and had to be completely filled with 5 minute epoxy, and then extensively ground, filed, reshaped and re-scribed to something closer to reality. With rescribing and the Eduard's windscreen (with some extra vents added), the nose is coming into shape. The 4 bladed spinner needed to be lengthened by .060", and the blade cutouts filled and recut. The spinner also had to be re-profiled, and the front opened. (blades cut off and brass pinned for attachment later) The 3 bladed spinner is actually a spare Airfix Spit V spinner turned down to the correct shape for the 'conical' shape of the HA-1112 and used spare Hamilton Standard blades. On the lower nose and belly, the rad outlet was incorrectly shaped, the wheel wells were empty, and the belly fairing was way to short, with inaccurate vents. ... a photo of a stock build (downloaded from the web) the actual belly ... the rebuilt belly, and the reworked wheel wells. (Fairing was extended using a spare Airfix Spit V windshield fairing widened by .060") They are looking more like HA-1112's now and will be finished as a red nosed 4 bladed machine, and as "Falke's" 3 bladed, yellow nosed machine with the cheveron. Hope you like so far, Colin

Hello! Here is my 1:72 Hispano-Aviación HA-1112-K1L which I built back in 1999. It represents C4J-10/“94-28”, of Escuela de Caza de Morón, Ejercito del Aire, in Spain, in 1950. It's the Italeri Bf 109G-6 kit with the Dekno resin and white metal conversion set. I recall the Italeri kit had some build issues on the wing roots and the resin nose differed a bit in width when compared to the Italeri fuselage so there was extra work involved blending the parts. The kit was fully painted by brush and only varnished with airbrush. Decals were from the conversion set. This is my favourite of the Spanish-modified Bf 109s. I like the profile more than that of the famous later "Buchón" variant. This variant has been released as a full kit by Amodel relatively recently. Thanks for looking and all comments are welcome Miguel
