I'm building an F6F 5 and need help with machine gun color. I've seen some black, a few silver and one Hellcat with the machine guns painted the same colors as the upper/lower surfaces of the wing. Which is correct?

MG-14/17 Parabellum WW1 Gun 1:32 Eduard Brassin Continuing their range of 1:32 WW1 machine guns in the Brassin range, Eduard have logically released a Parabellum MG-14/17 as a follow up to their MG-14. The '/17' suffix was used in real life by the Germans to indicate that this is the revised 1917 version of the MG-14. The main visual difference is in the size of the barrel, which in this later version has a much reduced diameter slotted jacket. MG-14 Parabellum WW1 Gun 1:32 Eduard Brassin The Parabellum MG-14 was a widely used German machine gun, designed from the outset for airborne use. It was comparatively light, and had an excellent rate of fire. The vast majority were used on flexible mounts as weapons for Observer/Gunners on two (or more) seater aircraft, rather than on fixed forward firing mountings for pilots. Vickers Mk.1 WW1 Guns. 1:32 Eduard Brassin. Developed from the Maxim Machine gum, Vickers improved the basic design by lightening it and using high strength alloys on key components. The ground based weapon had a water cooling system, but this was not found necessary when mounted on aircraft as the slipstream kept the gun cool, although the water cooling jacket was retained. Hi, before I start I have no affiliation with this company what so ever. I just thought that any builders of 1/700 US or RN warships should take a look at this site. http://www.3dmodelparts.com/ship-accessories/?sort=featured&page=2 I received my order of octuple pom pom's today and am totally amazed at the quality of the parts. These are 3D printed in acrylic resin and are very fine, they are much easier than photo-etch and have 3D barrels. They can also be set at any elevation, so are ideal for diorama's. I plan to build a Hurricane IIb from the Far East/Burma Campaign, either Z5659 or AP894 flown by W.J. Storey or BE171 by J.F. Barrick, as their markings can be made up from aftermarket sheets and generic serial number/roundel decal sheets. The Osprey book on Hurricane Aces 1941-45 lists all three as Hurricane IIbs, but then has Z5659 on the cover (and the colour profile later on) portrayed with only eight guns. Is this a mistake on the artist's part, or were the outer 4 guns sometimes removed to improve performance like the outboard cannon of some IIcs or (so I read somewhere) the wing guns of
