Hi all. My latest aircraft build is Kinetic's 1/48 Starfighter, more specific: the F-104s ASA-M from the Italian airforce. A few aftermarket parts were used like an Eduard seat and instrument panel and a Reskit exhaust. The kit itself is excellent, the decals not so. The few general decals on the sheet are too small and no stencils are present. So, I ordered a declaset from Armycast and stencils from Tauro. I used several photos from the internet to determine the color and eventually decided on MrHobby 325 as the final colour over a black base and several darker colours underneath. Weathering was done with Abteilung 502 oilpaint. Thank you for watching. René

I've very recently returned to the hobby after quite a while away and now starting to experiment with applying washes to tone down the paint work and hopefully highlight some of the recessed panel lines. Following the basic rule of 'oil based wash over acrylic varnish' and vice versa I'm unsure what colour the wash should be for a light grey aircraft, in this case a 1941 period Mitsubishi Zero, so can any one please advise? Regards Colin.

Please does anyone know the best spray can colour to use for 50s and 60s glossy RAF camo? Would Tamiya AS-9 be the right green? Thanks!

Looking for some help here - I am planning to build a late-1942 Halifax Mk II (there's a bit of a background story to the project, but I won't go into it here). However, I am not sure if the squadron codes on the fuselage should be grey or dull red for this period. I have seen pictures of early Halifaxes with grey codes, and later ones with red ones. Can anybody tell me when the code colours changed? My Google-fu today is evidently not up to the task. Any info gratefully received. Steve

Hi, Hasegawa calls out Mr. Color 315 as the aircraft gray for A320 and 737-700. However I've noticed on few forum posts people recommend using 338 for Boeing. So I've got both colors and the colors look quite similar except 315 is a bit warm. What are your thoughts on which color should be used for gray? Due to work schedule I wouldn't be able to get to the airport in a day time for a week 😢 so can't compare to the real thing. Do both manufacturers use the same color or one could be a better much for Airbus and another for Boeing? Is it the same color that is used on USAF RC-135 Rivet Joint? Thanks!

Chaps, Would anyone happen to know what grey the current Merlin HMA.2s are painted in FAA service? I am after a good acrylic spray-able paint in perhaps the Gunze/Mr Color or Tamiya ranges but want to make sure it's the right one. Cheers for any help. Andy

Hi all, I am soon going to be attempting an AModel AN-32 in the current grey (greenish grey all over) scheme. I am not sure what the best Humbrol equivalent is and wonder if there is anyone out there who knows? Thanks a lot. Best regards, Martin
