You can't have a Revell/Monogram GB without some American muscle so for my second build I've got what is arguably the daddy of them all, the 1964 Pontiac GTO. Introduced as an option package on the mid sized Pontiac Le Mans the GTO replaced the standard 326c.i. (5.3 litre) V8 with the 389c.i. (6.4 litre) V8 from the larger Catalina along with a manual transmission, stiffer springs and wider tyres. With the optional tri-power carburation as depicted in the kit it was rated at 348hp, which must have been fun with drum brakes all round. The kit was originally issued in 1985 and this is a 1998 reissue, by which time it had become a 2 'n 1 kit with an optional street machine version. This is a kit I've been waiting for for some years. A friend of mine used to own one in 12" to the foot scale and lots of fun was had putting it throught it's paces both off road and in water. In the box you get 4 olive green sprues, one clear and a set of poly caps plus a small decal sheet, instructions and an info sheet. I have seen this kit criticized for being over simplified but as long as it looks like a Gama Goat I'm not really bothered. I'll make a start proper on Sunday as tomorrow I'm on a training course.
