  1. These are derived from their K2/Y release from this year. February release
  2. I'm taking a short break from Ship-modelling to build this. There's still a Centurion AVRE that sit's forlorn; more of that soon. I bought this on impulse after seeing Pete Smith of Stonhenge Modellers display his in British Army green at IPMS Avon last year. Gecko are releasing some interesting kits, certainly for British vehicles and I've followed @APA's Beford builds with interest. The Supacat ATMP was primarily designed with air mobility in mind and served with airborne forces as a load carrier, with it's introduction coming after lessons learned in the Falklands conflict. It served up to 2010 and then was withdrawn without a really obvious successor. In truth the Quad bike and trailer have taken over it's role though how successfully is not entirely clear. Anyway on with the show - the instructions are full colour Bronco-type There are a couple of correction sheets and a spare sprue that covers parts for other variants that Gecko have released, 4 to date including a WMIK A driver figure is included and I'll wait to build it to judge how good it is. I might use this Accurate Armour figure instead There are some L85 rifles, handguns and body pouches And here are some pics of the original The web is certainly not awash with pics of the machine in action These are 2 useful references for history and appearance: https://www.mafva.org/walk-around-supacat-atmp/?v=79cba1185463 https://www.thinkdefence.co.uk/supacat-terrain-mobility-platform-atmp/ The central tub is well moulded Construction begins with the transmission And the deck is cleaned and attached The Diamond pattern plate is really effective As is the etch for the engine compartment The pallet containing 105mm shell boxes builds cleanly and the wood grain on the wooden pa;et is nicely done The wheel build up in 2 halves - they do need some filing to reduce the width so that the tyres "fit" The hub rims are added separately This is meant to be a quick build so more soon (hopefully!) Thanks for looking Rob
  3. I enjoyed the research and detailing of the Austin Tilly so much I'm going to do this little lovely. The Bedford MWC 200 gallon water bowser truck. There were two versions, the early with a fully oval bowser and this one the later with chamfered sides. There is plenty of info on these including some youtube footage which is nice. The scheme is going to be in SCC2 and from the Royal Welch Fusiliers in Europe around 1944. I'll see this as a small homage to my seudo Welsh heritage 😁 There will be no canvas but I may scratch the frame which went over the whole vehicle and the rear doors will be open. I'll add some appropriate equipment as well. If I had to sum up the kit in two words it would be Crisp and Hard. The plastic is very hard which can be both a bonus and a bind especially when cutting out the very thin, long pipework which, as you would expect, there is a lot of! This will be more of a 1/35 plumping build more than anything 😳 The detail is excellent as you can see from below. You have to look really hard to find an ejector mark, the link from the spru to part is scaled to the part which is a very nice touch and the instructions are a work bench friendly size in the form of a glossy booklet. Overall and so far I cannot really fault it. I do have a PE gripe but I'll save that for when I get round to it. I've never done a Gecko before but their subjects are right up my street and if this is their standard then I'm a fanboy 🤡 Heres some pics of typical content........ Selection of sprus Tyre detail! Even the canopy is pretty good although I won't be using it The only issue I've found which will be easily fixed Decal with included replacement RAF set - well done Gecko Instructions look fine and include the occasional view showing exct locations of key parts. You do get a very nice selection of personal equipment which they say to stuff in the rear. This is most definitely not where it went! The scheme of choice Hope you stick around and follow along 😊 I'm now going to do some research into British WW2 water pumping and water purification equipment 🤓 Andrew
  4. Hello, Here is another one of my models, finished a while ago. Trumpeter's 1/35 SA-8 Gecko. Any feedback is more than welcome! Thank you!
