  1. This will be my first WIP project on this forum. I have spent the last year slowly building up the parts I wanted, kit will be comprised as follows. This build will be my main job for the summer as i am expecting it to take 3 months atleast. 1/32 Academy F-16I SUFA Storm, Isradecals Publications F-16I SUFA, Wolfpack Cockpit Set, Wolfpack Exterior Set, Aires Landing Gear Bays, Eduard Ejection Seat Etch and Wheeliant Wheels. 1st of all i have to say what a great kit, the detail is fantastic and there are standard options though not included in the instructions to build a standard F-16D and the F-16D Barak with minor modifications to the spine, both variations of intake and engine nozzle included. Plenty of extra ordnance as well, including a rather nice Sniper XR Pod, all in all allot of kit for your money. I have started with the cockpit resin, the level of detail is amazing and it fits straight into the body on the standard lugs with no fitting required, I like that.
  2. Hi all, these are my Moto GP Bikes, i do love these kits, decals can be a challenge but thank god for Microset. A bit of a Colin Edwards Fan. Regards Danny Attree
  3. Another from the cabinet 1/32 Tamiya F-16CJ Block 50, for the most part this kit is straight out the box apart from the bits below. Wolfpack Design AN/AAQ33 Sniper Pod, Air Master M61 A1 Vulcan Cannon, Nice but tricky, All Tamiya acrylics/sprays with Microflat+Future gloss and dull coats, Reference Material, DACO Publications Discovering the F-16, TMOTA 2005 Decals from Two Bobs. I really like this kit, in a class of its own, i have another one for the future that i will give the full resin treatment, for a OOB kit the quality is pretty stunning.
  4. I bought this Hasegawa kit a few years ago now from EBay and was surprised enough to find a nice set of Superscale Decals representing the Top Gun Adversary/Aggressor included. I could tell straight away that they were quite old as the instructions where little more than a poor photocopy. The first thing that stuck me was how very few decals there were, a small amount of research was required. To my surprise the Decals where correct, there were a few of these birds from around 1982 all with the same Camouflage, some varied very slightly in terms of nose colour and a small orange stripe at the rear behind the wing but other than that it was spot on, no national insignia or the usual abundance of placards, Cool who really likes applying hundreds of decals. The only real issue was the underside as the Superscale decals neglected to represent this so I had to do some extrapolation from the available information. A real nice touch is the fake canopy on the underside. There was a moment when I returned that I forgot I was looking at the underside, I can only imagine how deceptive that would be at speed and altitude, very clever. Fortunately the Superscale instructions came with the relevant Federal Standard colour numbers so I was able to match all 3 shades perfectly against my Tamiya Acrylics, I used the following site as it allows you to pick more than one colour and view them together, very handy. http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/colorcharts/stuff_eng_colorcharts_fs.htm. The CATM AIM9 was a spare from my Academy F/A-18C and the ACMI pod was scratch built, panel lines where scribed where appropriate. I have to say for an old kit this went together very easy with a minimal amount of filler. I used this kit as a good base for me to experiment on for current long term build, a 1/32 Academy F-16I SUFA, this also has a 3 tone camouflage scheme and I really wanted to practice this so I could build the panel lines up and weathering using just filters and washes, no pre shading. Up until now all my birds have been the various shades of USAF grey and ghost grey, pre shading is fine when you only have one main colour. The whole thing took a couple of weeks which is a record for me and I am pretty happy with the result, probably one of the best visible examples of Area Rule Aerodynamics and a good looking plane as well. I hope you enjoy. Danny
  5. Another from the cabinet 1/32 Revell Tornado ECR Tigermeet Overall a really nice kit all round, the only down side is the the instruction for marking out and spraying the yellow, the pictures in the manual are totally wrong and you need to have this in mind. The DACO reference book Eye On The Tigers was Essential there. I would have been nice to have added some additional detail sets but due to lack of funds she is straight out of the box. Modified the standard landing gear by removing all wheel mounting spigots and replaced with stainless steel welding rod, this stopped the wheel from flexing inwards and sagging, rock solid now. I added the recommended weight in the nose but I could have done with a little more, probably half again. All painted with Tamiya acrylics with a fair few washes and fine finishing with an assortment of Tamiya dry weathering sets. The weathering sets where real handy for adding the orange tint to the yellow tiger stripes. I have a standard 1/32 IDS that will get the proper treatment in the future, gulf war markings will be the plan.
  6. Some more of my builds done over the last 10 years ish. Kind Regards Danny
  7. Finished about this time last year, i had to scratch build the intake tubes as there were none, if i was going to go through all this resin effort that would have to change. Made the mistake of using Hannants Xtracrylic, forever unblocking my brush, never again. Lightly covered in a filter of Tamiya Smoke then Grey filters applied on the panels, not to much as it seemed from my research these schemes did not last long before being painted over. Build took the best part of 3 months and after many hours she was done, no text just a few pictures. I hope you all enjoy. 1/32 Tamiya F-14A Scheme and Decals VF-84, High Vis Jolly Rogers, Cam Pro Decals Aires Resin F-14A Cockpit with Eduard MK GRU-7A Ejector Seat etch Wolfpack Design Refuelling Probe Wolfpack Design Air Brake Assembly Wolfpack Design Boarding Ladder Assembly Wheeliant Wheels Master Alpha Probe and AOT Probe Crossdelta, Stiffener Plates. Daco Publications Uncovering the F-14A/B/D
  8. Built this a few years ago now, scale is around 1/35 but i can not remember who made the kit, it was i nice kit though. Used a 1/24 Resin Harrier ejection seat and some other bits to spruce up the cockpit. Thanks for looking Danny
