  1. Some foties: Actually...not bad. Given that it's a mid-1970s kit. Both the Airfix and Revell kits were later subtypes with the underwing gun pods but this is the earlier version with wing-mounted machine guns. I backdated the Revell kit into a P-400 a couple of years ago: ...so I may go for a Mk1 with this kit. We'll see. I have been known to change my mind 😀 John
  2. The Fairey Delta 2 gained the World air speed record for Great Britain, on 10 March 1956, of 1132 mph (1822 km/h) and was the first aircraft to pass 1000 mph. At the time it was in an overall natural metal finish and then had an orange flash and the record details painted on the nose. Before the 1957 Farnborough airshow it was repainted into the magenta/pink/purple (depending who you ask!) scheme with cream trim. It was later repainted blue and even later converted into the BAC 221 with a stretched fuselage and new wing to provide data on high landing speeds for Concorde development. It is now preserved, as the BAC 221, at the Fleet Air Arm Museum Yeovilton. The second FD2 is preserved at the RAF Museum Cosford. I used a Russian moulding (by Naro-Fominsk Plastic Plant NF) of the old Frog kit which had certainly suffered over the years and was quite rough in places but, until the new Dora Wings kit appears, is the only way to get a FD2, Built straight from the bag with my own mix of paint after failing to find anything that matched the photos from the time and home printed decals. In the hangar are the BAC 221 and earlier natural metal scheme - all three are the same aircraft at different times in it's life. I'll do the blue scheme as well when the Dora Wings kit appears. Thanks for looking. Steve
