Here is the Revell Fokker 100 finished as G-UKFI of Air UK circa 1999. The real G-UKFI was delivered to Air Europe in 1989 and joined Air UK in 1993. She later became PH-OFI of KLM and retired in 2009. The Revell kit was issued in 1995 and has been off the market for some time. Revell tend to re-issue their airliners at odd and unpredictable intervals but I’m not sure if we’ll see the F100 back. My kit was from the original KLM/Swissair boxing but even so the moulds were starting to wear and there was a lot of flash and consequent cleaning up. The final (Helvetic) release suffered from very badly moulded engine halves and if Revell do ever re-issue the kit I hope they fix the moulds first. Flash aside it was a straightforward build. The locating pegs for the wings are wrongly positioned. If left unmodified they throw the wing incidence out and give the model an incorrect step on the underside. (Thanks to @Viking for pointing that out). It’s an easy correction but (obviously) has to be done at the building stage. I added some parts from the Extra Tech p/e set but since all my models are built in “gate” configuration I decided against using the open thrust reversers! Paint is overall Halfords white with Tamiya and Revell metallics. Decals are by RichW. Richard has done a good job with the livery but there is quite a bit of nipping and tucking needed around the fin and rear fuselage. The fin decals don’t wrap round the leading edge or over the top but Revell Aqua 54 is a close match so touching up is straightforward. Windows are by Authentic Airliners. Detail decals came from the kit sheet and the spares box. Thanks for looking and constructive criticism is always welcome. Revell released the Fokker 100 kit back in 1995. Its very nicely molded and well detailed. Since then I had this kit in my stash...when I bought it,I started it right away but back then I was still using brushes on my builds. After some parts were brush painted,I thought I wasn't very happy with the outcome,so the kit was put back to the box were it had stayed ever since. Due to some home movings I managed to lose the cockpit clear part and for some time I had no idea how to fix it. Recently,and now with more experience,I took it off the shelf of doom and thought that now its the time to fix this kit and build it properly. All pre-painted parts were cleaned,primed and re-painted by airbrush and also using the correct colors for the Swissair version. The decals had yellowed badly in all those years but I was lucky to find another Swissair Fokker 100 which had pristine decals. The missing cockpit window was replaced by putty and a 3D window from Authentic Airliners. The cabin windows were filled with clear. The build itself after the cleaning and repairs was straight forward as the parts fit well and filler is needed at an absolute minimum. Painted with my usual Revell and Testors enamels. I am very pleased to add this nice little kit into my collection after more than 20 years on the shelf of doom... Sadly its out of production for some time now and sometimes gets high prices on ebay.Would be nice if Revell would do a re-release like they did with their Boeing 727-100 kit. Swissair was launch customer for the Fokker 100 and received its first example in 1988.It was in service until 1996 when Swissair replaced them with Airbus A319 and A320s Today some Fokker 100s are flying with Helvetic Airways,so they are still a common sight at Zurich Airport altough their days are numbered as well. KLM New Colors F-100's 1:144 Draw decal Derived from the F28 Fellowship, the Fokker 100 features a stretched fuselage, new wing and Rolls-Royce Tay engines. First flying in 1986, 283 were built before Fokker went into bankruptcy in 1997. A shorter version was developed by removing 4.7 metres from the fuselage, as the Fokker 70. Both versions have been operated by KLM Cityhopper, although the 100's have now all been retired from the fleet. The Revell kit is the only injection moulded model of the aircraft and is getting hard to find now. Fortunately Bradley on this forum kindly sent me an example. It build easily, but would suggest modifying the wing fit. There are 2 pegs on each wing that fit into holes in the root profile on the fuselage. Unforunately they knock the whole wing incidence down too low, and leave a step on the leading edge underside. I cut the forward pegs off my wings and simply aligned them with the root profile, which solved the problem. Decals are from Draw Decal reviewed here, representing the final scheme worn by the KLM Cityhopper fleet,and fit very nicely. There are options for 2 different window & door layouts, and a variety of registrations. Follow Draw Decals instructions and use the hot towel method of pressing the dcals on to the model, it works very well. One more addition to my airliner fleet; And finally with something else', my Revell Boeing 737-900 conversion, also using a Draw Decals KLM set Thanks for looking, John

This sheet represents the final color scheme worn by KLM's Fokker 100 fleet from 2002 until withdrawl in 2013. Two window & door arrangements are supplied for the port fuselage side, and a full set of registration numbers to cover the whole fleet. The sheet is printed on constant carrier film, so you need to cut around each individual design.After allowing 10 - 20 minutes for the decal to grip, a cloth dipped in hot water can be pressed over it to blend it in to the surface. I use a sheet of kitchen paper folded over many times, dipped in hot water from the kettle. The decals will the conform to any curvatures, and stick like limpets to the surface.As with all types of decals, a coat of Kleer/Future will seal them in.
