1. Model T 1914 Fire Truck With Crew ICM 1:24 24017 The Ford Model T car has gone down in history as the worlds first mass produced car. By 1927 in a little over 9 years 15 million cars were produced. In 1999 the Model T was crowned the most influential car of the 20th Century. The Model The model arrives in the usual sturdy box with a separate top sleeve with a nice artist’s representation of the vehicle on the front. Inside, within a large poly bag, are four sprues of grey plastic, a clear spure and 4 rubber tyres. There is also one caramac sprue for the figures. The build starts with the nicely detailed engine with the block and gearbox halves glued together followed by the addition of the rocker covers, fan belt, dynamo, exhaust manifold, cooling fan, cooling pipes, and other sundry items. The radiator is attached to the front axle and just needs the radiator grille glued to it to complete the assembly. The radiator/axle is then glued to the front of the floor pan/chassis. The rear axle, drive shaft and differential are built up from only three parts and fitted to the underside of the chassis along with the two piece exhaust/silencer unit. The front and rear axle support frames are then added, as is the steering rack. The four wheels, rubber tyres are added to the spoke wheels and are glued to the axles, the construction moves to the body work. The rear engine wall (not a firewall as its not solid) is made up and added, the engine covers are then added. The floor pan is made up followed by the four part seat, which is then added in. The rear fire fighting tanks are made up and added along with an equipment basket which sits over the top. The racks for the side mounted ladders are part of the tanks construction. The steering column is then made up and added. The firefighting hose is added to the equipment basket and ladders made up and added to the side. Four different vehicle lamps are made up and added. Additional fire fighting equipment is made up ad added on the running board on the opposite side to the ladder. Decals There are no decals included in this kit. Figures This is ICM set 24006 "American Fire Truck Crew". It is a set of two figures for the fire truck. One is the driver and the second is another fireman standing on the running board directing the driver. The two figures are on one sprue of the now familiar caramac coloured plastic. There will be some seam lines to clean up on a few parts but nothing excessive. In general the mould in crisp and clean with plenty of detail. Conclusion This is another great addition to the Model T series that ICM have been releasing. As with the other versions, it looks like it wont be a difficult kit to make, but will look great once painted. Recommended. Review sample courtesy of
2. American Fire Truck Crew (1910s) ICM 1:24 ICM seem to be working their way through as many Ford T car variants as they can on 1:24 scale. One of these was the Model T Fire Truck. Now they bring us this set of two figures for the truck. One is the driver and the second is another fireman standing on the running board directing the driver. The two figures are on one sprue of the now familiar caramac coloured plastic. There will be some seam lines to clean up on a few parts but nothing excessive. In general the mould in crisp and clean with pleanty of detail. Conclusion This is a new kit of figures for the fire truck in a large enough scale for the detail to pop out. Highly recomended if you have the Fire Truck Kit. Review sample courtesy of
3. Finally! After building this kit and checking the lights every step of the way, only to find that when it was finished the blue lights on the cab failed me. Keeping calm..........sort of........and before sending it into orbit, I set it aside and went back to it a few weeks later to trace every wire and replace them (also had to dismantle the blues lights on the cab). So now, everything works and I have taken some pictures for those who were patient enough to follow this build for the past 6 or more months. I hope it was worth the wait. A video will follow soon showing the lights in action and I will post a link on here when it is ready for viewing. 4. I've just finished this wonderful little kit today. It is the Highway Miniatures 1/87 scale 1923 Mack Ladder Truck that I have been building for a good friend of mine with a collection of real fire engines himself. It's a great little kit, packed with detail and working features. Not too bad for a (previously to me) unknown manufacturer this side of The Pond. Here's a link to my WIP thread: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235002580-187-1923-mack-aerial-ladder-truck/ Here is the write up of the actual truck quoted from the kit instructions: This 1923 vintage Mack 65ft aerial ladder truck was very popular in New York, Chicago, and other big cities in the 1920s. Actually, they were older horse-drawn ladder wagons, which were updated by converting to a motorized power unit. The ladders were raised by spring power, which was encased in the long tubes mounted in the center of the turntable. The spring power was controlled by a foot brake pedal, which came up between the tubes to the steps. The turntable was rotated manually, by the handwheel standing upright on the left side of the steps. To raise the ladders, the steering wheel was lifted off and hung on the side frame, the seat was rotated out of the way, and the brake released. The extension ladder could then be raised by the handwheels attached to the winch arrangement which had cables running up to the top of the stationary ladder, over pulleys, back down and attached to the bottom of the sliding ladder. Winding the cable on the winch drum, raised the ladder.

6. Hi all, My first yearbook posting and I'm afraid there's not much in it. It's been a poor year for getting kit building stuff done - the latter half of the year has disappeared without me getting anything built. The first 8 months of the year I was finishing off Revell's Schlingmann LF 20/16, which also took up a fair chunk of last year too Following the completion of the above I took a rest and built Bandai's ISS Space Suit - Extravehicular Mobility Unit straight out of the box. Hopefully I'll get more done next year! I've recently bought myself Airfix's new tooled 1:72 Mk1a Spitfire to ease myself back into the game. I'm then going to have a go at a motorbike, a submersible, a space probe or a bus! Or something else!!! Knowing me when I've made the Spitfire I'll probably want to make another ..... or a Hurricane!!....... or ........................... Kind regards and a Happy New Year to all! PlaStix
7. Hi all, This is the first time I've posted any pictures of my kits online so apologies if I get anything wrong with photos etc. I bought this one about a year ago and I've kept working on it on and off over the whole year. I was originally planning on getting an American truck of some kind but searching the Internet I came across images of completed versions of the LF 20/16 and other Revell versions and just liked the amount of detailing. Anyway It was a great build and I am quite pleased with the results - so much so that it's the first kit I've bought a proper display case for. It's mostly 'out of the box' - I don't dare risk weathering my kits in case I mess them up! Sorry for the quality of the photos - I only had my work's iPad to hand. Kind regards, Stix
