Fresh from building the Supermodel and FROG versions of this, I have now run out of obsolete kits, so i will have to build a modern one! This is available as a double boxing at a very reasonable price. You get two lots of parts like this: ...including a resin bit for the wheel well detail round the engine area. Neat. Decals are for a very generous seven schemes (one already used for my FROG build): The trailing edges of the wings are rather blobby on the inside surfaces so I have scraped them down (just the port one here): ...which results in a much thinner trailing edge (on the left): I have started assembly by gluing together the wings, air intake, cockpit, radiator and fuselage bulkheads: I've managed to get the first gluey thumbprint in already!

After many years I finally managed to find all the parts and complete the model Fiat G.55 "Centauro" Sottoserie 0, MM 91064 "11", 1 Squadriglia "Gigi Tre Osei", 2 gruppo ANR, may 1944 in 1:48 scale published by Special Hobby, the machine is in experimental camouflage. Despite these several years of lying the model I do not remember that there were any problems with it in construction, the fit of parts very good. The only addition is montex-mask masks. Enjoy your viewing.

While doing some organizing in my modeling stash, I came across a model of a Fiat G.55 "Centauro" sottoserie 0 in 1:48 a published by Special Hobby. The construction of it began a good few years ago. But during some work in the workshop I lost some of the finished parts and couldn't find them, and the model flew to the shelf waiting for me to find the parts. Finally, I managed to complete all the parts and you can move with the end of its construction. In such a state he was waiting for the end of work on him. And here's a set of parts that I lost somewhere for several years.

So I decided to do my first build report here on BM. I progressed already quite a bit on this model, so not a start from opening the box I'm afraid. The Sword 2 in 1 kit is imho a joy to build, and goes together as easily as any mainstream kit you'd care to mention. No RS headaches here! I decided to make one of the two with an experimental splinter camo, seen on some planes in 1943. With the aid of the BM community (thanks @fubar57 & @SafetyDad !) I could tweak the scheme as good to my ability. Hope you like it. No worries putting everything together as per the instructions; this kit will fit. See? Never mind that stroke of Mr Surfacer.. Cannon barrels were drilled out and some Albion Alloy tubes were inserted. The intake tube got a support flange. I was a bit late adding the navigation lights, but did so before spraying the camo pattern. But.. Alclad Aqua Gloss and decals and.. Aaaghh..! I totally forgot the cowling guns. Out came the pin-vise again.. To be continued.. Thanks for watching, Cheers, Luka

Hi all, I have the Fiat G.55 double kit from Sword, and one of my camo choices is the tricolour splinter pattern. It's a pattern that was applied to some G.55's as an experiment. It looks like each pattern was unique, judging from the photo's I could find. However, the scheme in the kit's instructions (black 7) seems to be a mix from other schemes, and I can't find a photo of this plane. There are enough colour profiles online, often with contradictory schemes, but does anybody know of a photo of black 7? This one;
