Hi All, After 50 years of modelling I have to confess to having never built an F-15. How can I sleep at night? Well I mainly build British stuff so obviously the F-15 was not British nor did they use it but I am a fan as you can see on my car. The plate was an Xmas present from my wife back in 2009. A combination of my interests....... Here she is at Brooklands in April 2022 at the 100th Anniversary of Jaguar. So here is my first F-15 kit. I'll do a Lakenheath bird as it is more British and in deference to all the great airshows over the years. A few goodies to help the progress. The Aries burner cans are superb so I'm looking forward to using them. Progress might be slow to start as Im making the most of the dry weather for my other hobbies but I'm sure I'll hit the deadline. Colin

Hello all! I've decided to tell and show my progress in 320NEO building and painting. First, I've built 4 737's different generations. And later decided to go on with his main competitor A320. First model from Zvezda was finished yet. And now I compare kits from two manufactures and build 320NEO from Revell. So till today I have done this basic work First, it was really useful advise for Revell kits - to paint in dark colour from inside. Otherwise ready model will be yelowish if positioned under bright sun shine. I've used decorix the primer from the cylinder - it has strong adhesion and easy-to apply. So, while fuselage dries up, I've painted cockpit interior. In Russian model communities you can often read something like "I've spent a lot of time for interior but actually, it's "gopher". This slang comes from one old russian comedy. It was one dialogue there: -Do you see the gopher? -No, I don't. -And I don't see, but the gopher exists! So this case is certainly about "gopher" - it's unreal to explore cabin interior in 1/144 scale on ready model. So I must to confess - I hadn't spent too mush time for perfect painting of interior. My "gopher" is ready 😃 So on, the next day I pasted the cockpit and nose gear niche into fuselage. Plus for more reliability added a piece of plastic between them. As Revell says in instruction, 10 g weight was added. I think couple of rubles 🪙 and some plasticine will be enough 😀 And clear details of passenger windows are already mounted. Later I'll protect them using masks. Now we are reapy to connect two parts of our fuselage together. Next day I've mounted cockpit clear detail, and began work with engines. Cockpit detail рas not been established very neat, so I was forced to use some putty, then apply sanding paper (from 600 to 2500 grain size) And what about engines - in many Reviews Revell was blamed that engines division is very complicated, illogical and heavy-to paint. Well, I must agree with that reviews. For example, I can't imagine how to airbrush this detail in two colours. So I airbrushed in steel Mr. Hobby H-18 and then painted light grey Zvezda paint #30 using usual brush. Then also I've painted with Tamiya X-11 chrome silver the shapes of blades. You can see the left and right details before and after. So... now engines are glued together, and today plan is to finish with cockpit and engines grinding, add masks and cover with decorix white primer on my plane plus paint engines main colour (I've applied primer onto all small details before assembly). I think to use MAKR "royal blue" #47 for this. Maybe it's not the certain colour of BA engines, but as i think it's somwhere close to the truth. So, hope it's would be interesting to view project. Well time suddenly flies and Enzo has opened the 2021 GB book already. I'm keen on this GB as it involves my NZ theme. I have had the A-4K in my stash since I lived in the Land or the Long White Cloud, 20 years ago. I'll build it now in memory of Andy as it was his Avatar here on BM. The kit is unopened and untouched but there is no sign of the set of Geko Graphics decals I got at the same time. On a positive note I have 2 resin seats in the box. I'm not sure which is correct so that will be the first job when we start. Colin

Hi Chaps, Well it's almost as busy here as the Nordic Group build. I'm only 3 days late and there are 3 pages of building already. Just to be very different I have passed on the Airfix Seafury and will do this Seasprite in the colours of the Royal New Zealand Navy. I picked it up in Singapore late last year. Very unusually this will entail using the kit scheme. Not often that happens for the New Zealand SIG. Here's the starter picture. The red card seems ominous but let's see... Colin

Well after finishing my AA CRARRV I decided to build something a little different a 1/24 Heller Renault 8 Gordini which is nearing completion (I have'nt done a WIP for this as it was intended as a quick trip down memory lane to my apprenticeship days when I worked in the local Renault dealership) I am now going back to AFV's with Tamiya's Chieftain Mk5 which has been in the stash for sometime. I know this is not the best kit of the Chieftain available and has many inaccuracies which I don't intend to correct instead I have been looking at range wreck pictures and have decided to have a go at replicating one of these, which will hide I hope some of the problems with this kit. Anyway here are the pictures of the box top and the hull and turret tops, I am not bothering with sprue shoots as these have been shown many times before Thanks for looking in and you are welcome to follow along if you wish, hopefull to start soon. I have my 1973 Matchbox Walrus kit washed and ready to go. I tried a sample of the original decal sheet (in Roobios tea!) and it came off well and didn't crack so may use that decal sheet just for old time sake. The reason I've titled it wading Walrus is that it will be waterlined. I will do basic stringing and one or two extras. Watch this space I also have an aftermarket decal sheet so will see which looks best. Some hints of whats going to happen 😉

Hi All, I think that this one fits the bill. Please let me know if its a non runner! The Phonix D.IIa was a development of the D.I which first flew in 1917. The D.IIa first flew in March 1918. Ten of them were transferred to the Navy (J.21 to J.30) for the defence of naval bases. I like the mottled colour scheme with the red naval markings. Here are two photo's before I begin. Hiya Folks, OK I`m still building my pair of Stirlings and quite a few other kits besides but when the new Alley Cat Spitfire Mk.Vc conversion for the recent Airfix Spifire Mk.Vb kit dropped through my door today I decided to start it straight away and here is the progress so far! https://www.flickr.com/photos/127720990@N03/ As Photobucket have frozen my images,....some have been added here from an emergency source; The cuts needed for the Airfix kit are quite easy to carry out and the instructions tell you exactly what to do and where to do it! The gap between the plastic and resin parts doesn`t look brilliant here but when the parts are squeezed together the fit is excellent. Here are the Airfix and Alley Cat wings compared. The new resin wing is a good match for the Airfix fuselage. Here are the insides being painted,.......a few more coats to go yet. As well as the wings Alley Cat provide alternative cannon barrels, barrel caps and undercarriage doors, which I`ll photograph later. As usual this is a class product from Alisair but now I need to choose which Spit to model,.....RAAF, Darwin, 1943 is looking favourite at the moment but we`ll see,.........the Mk.Vc is easily the most interesting variant of the Mk.V as there are so many options for colours and markings to take your pick from,...I can see me building quite a few more of these!
