I bought the FAA carrier boxing of Kora's Fairey IIIF when it was released last year as I always wanted to build this legendary inter war years aircraft. I started it at the beginning of this year and it took a bit of time, there being loads of etch, some of it unnecessary and a lot of detail, some of which was crisp and some needing a fair amount of tidying up. The colour scheme was straightforward although the fuselage band took a bit of masking and multiple coats. The transfers were nice and crisp but they're on a single sheet and each of them needs trimmed so as to minimise the amount of extraneous transfer. Not too bad for the numbers but painstaking work for the large roundels and the tailplane markings. I'm afraid I didn't do a WIP.
Finished as S1475 of 440 Flight on HMS Hermes in 1933. Painted with Revell Aluminium for the fabric, Xtracrylix Silber for the metal parts and Revell matt black for the decking. Straight OOB. If there's a next time I think I would rig it too.
