  1. Hi all, I wonder if anyone can help me? i purchased a Kitty Hawk F-35b (1/48 scale) which is a stunning kit, the problem is some of the parts on Sprue B are ‘short shot’ and only half moulded. My question is..... does anyone have any way of getting in touch of either Kitty Hawk themselves or the U.K. supplier so I can purchase a replacement sprue? I’ve tried the usual ways- Facebook page, original supplier etc. though with no luck. Can anyone please help?
  2. Pledging to pitch in with this bad boy. Bought on Amazon for £19.99 earlier this year. Italeri chosen soley because it offers British markings. You can blame my boss for this kit arriving in my stash - I did . . . . . . for pointing out that Top Gear race - epic stuff.
  3. Evening all, Have been finishing up some long standing projects. This one came about by accident - was given the Revell Dambuster Lancaster, and had the Hasegawa F-35B, so it made sense to combine the two! The Revell Lancaster went together very well - all OOB, with Xtracrylix and Tamiya paints. I also used Windsor Galleria varnish, which is the best matt I've come across. The Hasegawa F-35B went together perfectly - the cockpit and canopy are click fits, and I used Hataka Have Glass paint, which again is the most convincing version of this 'stealth' coating I've come across. The 'other'
  4. Italeris new tooling F-35B in 1/72 is due to arrive Monday 9/12/19! We are now taking pre-orders for this exciting new release. https://www.wonderlandmodels.com/products/italeri-172-f35b-lightning-ii-model-kit/
  5. Hello! Here's the second of my "jump jets" posted today, the 1/72 Hasegawa F-35B. This one was built out of the box and the only major modification was to add some more detail to the pilots seat and downwards pointing nozzle. The kit went together very easily and most of the build time was spent on the paint job. This consisted of an Alclad Aluminium basecoat underneath my own Haveglass grey, mixed together from xf54, x32 and xf85 - this gives an interesting sheen which changes tone depending on the lighting and the angle you look at it. I then spent an age masking the ram panels before sprayi
  6. I've been pondering what to make next and decided it was time to have a go at some jets. The harrier is one of my favourite aircraft, it just has a punchy, no nonsense sort of elegance and I also like the full wrap camouflage scheme. The new tool airfix kits I've made (Spitfire Mk1, Henikel He-111, Bf109e) have gone together without too much hassle so decided to stick with what I know with this one, supplemented with the eduard etch bits and pieces. I find the B-version F-35 a fascinating aircraft, I've not exactly fallen in love with its lines but can see it growing on me. I decided to build
  7. Very challenging and fun build on the Kitty Hawk F-35B STOVL Marine Corps Lightning. I started about eight months ago did a ton of research to find the most detailed photos. The aircraft has allot of openings so it only seems right to pay attention to the detail in each area. To give detail but not over do it. Also allot of research and test swatches on the paint. RAM panels overall paint scheme has to be very sharp it’s a challenge for the most seasoned modeller as the aircraft has not been in service that long and even carrier Ops show minimal weathering. The engine and aft underside seems t
  8. Hallo again Here is my F-35B. The kit is from Kitty Hawk. Scale 1/48. The etched parts are from Dreammodel. These are the finest etched parts I ever worked with. Highly recommended. All masking was hand done. Happy modelling
  9. Lockheed Martin F-35B Lightning II DIE-CUT Flexible Mask (D72001) 1:72 Galaxy Model - For Hasegawa Kit While the Hasegawa F-35B is a good kit, getting the painting right on the kit is a real challenge if you don't want to resort to decals. The set arrived in a thick ziplok bag, which saved it from the beating the envelope received during transit. Inside is a nice glossy cover sheet that provides additional stiffness to the package, and where they consider that not to be sufficient (such as decals), a further sheet of thick glossy card is also added to maintain t
  10. Hi folks, I'm back to do a little project that I've been wanting to do ever since I built the Hasegawa F-35A Lightning; namely to build the long hoped for Hasegawa "B" version!. They have come rhough, and I've gotten my grubby mitts on one. I personally feel that the Hasegawa is hands-down the best 1/72 F-35 out there, first the "A", now including the "B" version. (You might correctly surmise that I'm waiting breathlessly for their "C" version, as well!) Some folks didn't like the Hasegawa F-35A, simply because it had no open weapons bays/missles. Folks --
  11. Here are the final pics of my just completed 1/72 scale Hasegawa Marines F-35B. F-35B Build Thread The model is pretty much out of the box, except for the modified horizontal stabilizers and the weapons pod. For details on these, please refer to the build thread. Paints were MM enamels, Alclad II metals and Colourcoats Aircraft Grey FS#36170 -- ACUS41. Can't wait for the Hasegawa F
