I'd like to join in with a re-engined Russian ex-Frog Meteor F4 which will add to my collection of 45 Meteors already built. The real thing. The kit parts and my vacformed nacelles. The fuselage is just taped together here to work out how much nose weight to add. I got a vacformed canopy as the kit one was not very clear and apart from replacing the nacelles I'll need to remove the guns, make the anti-spin parachute fairing on the tailplane and print some decals. Hi, My first GB was the Frog one in 2019 and no doubt due to the glut of "Frogspawn", mostly from eastern Europe, the rules said that as long as Frog designed the kit it did not matter who had re-boxed it. However, for this GB the rules are the other way round in that it is not who moulded it but the box it is in that counts apparently. So, when I found this in one part of my stash I thought it would be eligible? It is actually the old Frog moulding that I built shortly after its release in 1966, but in 1996 Revell decided for some reason to put it in this box - when I bought it about 15 years ago I thought it might be the one Revell had released themselves at about the same time. Not the most accurate of kits but with a bit of work it should not look too bad. Last time I built it wheels up, but this time I will try wheels down, though it will need a lot of weight - the instructions say 40g! I will probably have to put some in the front of the engine nacelles as well as the nose, but we will see. It will make a nice comparison with the Ta-154 which also ended up in a Matchbox box it seems, but mine is an Airfix reboxing so won't be in this GB. I have some replacement radar aerials from Master which I will try and fit though the kit ones are not too bad. There were a few variations on aerial fit, armament and colour scheme so I will have to do a bit of research first. Pete

Just over a week before I start my ANZAC build, time for another. Whilst I'm in Focke Wulf mode, and have relevant paints on my bench, I'm rejoining with this 1977 kit. Originally from Frog in 1968. This kit cost me £2 from IPMS Avon show in 2007. Options. I'm going for the lower, as I have those red/yellow stripe as decal - leftover from my Fw190 build. Parts. This is a primative kit, that I plan to build in flying mode.
