Maybe it is because I am coming to the end of my Wellington build and saw that another kit with Roy Cross box art hadn't been picked up yet. Or maybe it is because I have this paint which I thought would do nicely Or maybe because I had this chappie which I can borrow from another diorama to do the full Roy Cross, like my Wellington and Do17 builds So I invested a few pounds and have a complete 1968 kit. Here it is with some of the parts in the picture. And to quote Basil Fawlty "If you don't like Duck then you are out of luck " 🙂

I've decided to press pause on the mojo-sapping F9F-8 (it'll be finished by the end of the GB, just need to build up the willpower to do it!) and make a start on a Christmas present - the Merit 1/48 J2F-5 Duck. It looks like a pretty simple kit - only 80 parts. Everything looks nicely moulded - the surface detail is very nice - although the interior detail is fairly basic. This is going to be a simple, straight from the box, hopefully quick build. I'll be using the kit decals, I think for an Argentine machine in silver with yellow upper wings. The obligatory box shot: I've started prepping some parts and I've primed the interior bits ready for some interior green. Not a lot to see so far then, but here's a shot of the two fuselage halves. Fine panel line and rivet detail on the outside, very basic detail on the inside. More tomorrow Z

Hi Fellow modellers! This is my last of 2017. It´s the old Airfix Duck, It was a fun kit to build, and despite it´s age it´s very good. I added some details to the cockpit, vacuformed a new canopy using a mould made modifying the original, and replaced the engine with the Starfighter Decals Wright R1820. The engine was allso modified to later version and the cowling was thinned and the exhaust made from scratch. Decals are from Starfighter too and are of great quality. I hope you like it and every critics and comments are welcomed! Best regards from Uruguay Ignacio

Hello one and all, Welcome to my first ever post in the Armour section... please be kind to me!! Some of you may or may not know that I am building a few models for a lady at my school. She has asked for a "duck" and offered to buy me the Airfix version. I am not having much fun with Airfix models of late (their armour) so I went for this one instead. If anyone is interested I am building an M4 Crab, Halftrack, Churchill III, Grant, PzIII and a Panther as well, I can put pictures up if anyone would like. Here is the sprues and lovely box art for this build. Being British I am going for the top version. I am really thinking of getting another and making the Iwo Jima version, it appeals. You also get some kind of wargaming book with it, I am not sure what this is really about. Typically in proper fashion for me, I have not got any photos of where I am upto... bloody hell... I have made a start on the duck, only glued the chassis together. More pictures too follow soon... Kind Regards, Dazz

Hello and good morning, This is my first post and I am relatively new to the forum. My name is Ed and I recently got back into modeling when during a house move my fiancée discovered a few unbuilt kits sitting in a box left over from my childhood. She persuaded me I should have a go at building them - Now I've rediscover the model making bug and thought I'd share my pretty amateurish results with you all. I'm a member of a motoring forum and through a mutual member both here and there, decided I should post up my efforts. Hope you like. All comments appreciated.
