  1. Hi My father has started the 2023 building of three new captured models. In this case, a short series of the Dornier Do 217. Group photos AM 7, Dornier Do 217M-9 WkNr 0040 factory coded KF+JN Captured at Flensburg in 1945, Fitted with Dornier Do 317 style fins and rudders AM 107, Dornier Do 217M-1 W Nr 56158 AM 106, Dornier Do 217M-1 W Nr 56527 I hope you like them. Cheers Santiago
  2. A model I built years ago , but hadn’t done anything more with it. So recently I rediscovered it on my drive, along with other forgotten models. Idecided to give it a go and try create a picture with it.. so here it is, a very, very late war Do217N-2 on the night sky over another bombed out city, hunting for stray bombers..
  3. This is my first time doing a wip, or a group build. This was one of the models I bought on holiday in Falmouth in 1981. An excellent selection of models - Matchbox 1/32 109E, Airfix 1/72 Tornado in the MRCA boxing and Dassault Mirage F.1 making up for a otherwise rubbish holiday. It rained. We did jigsaws of the happy couple for the Royal Wedding. The hotel was “odd”, I was told I was too young to see “For Your Eyes Only” at the cinema. But, the 217J was great. I have ordered a used, fairly modern boxing on the internet, and new brass guns. So for now a stock image, and I will wait for the postman to deliver my goodies. or I would post the image if I could get the url from “OneDrive” to work...
  4. Hi folks; a quick request. I have the Huma DFS 228 and an Italeri Dornier 217. I would love to make the composite pictured here: http://www.aviastar.org/air/germany/dfs-228.php and here: http://www.walterwerke.co.uk/walter/dfs228.htm Although it is clear in all photographs that the Dornier 217 is marked 'K-3', on at least one photograph it is clear the aircraft has further identification/matriculation markings. Could anyone help with advice on the codes the Dornier carried? I have searched extensively, to the point of finding a profile with no matriculation details This combination seems to have been captured by the US, then UK, at the end of WWII, so there may be a chance further info for 'k-3' exists. Thanks for reading, Happy modelling Tony
  5. This thread is for a set of Dornier 217s that I have in various stages of completion. More photos to follow: Dornier 217M-1 U5+DK of KG2, abandoned over London 22.2.44 and made near perfect belly landing nr Cambridge with no apparent combat damage! This a/c is one of the options from the latest Italeri release, so I will be up-dating the markings. Colour scheme is deduced from photos, of irregular streaks/blotches of RLM 76 over standard camouflage. Kit: Italeri K-1 with engines from N-1 nightfighter version. 1/72 Dornier 217 M-1 U5+DK of KG2 22nd February 1944. Italeri kit with engines from Dornier 217N. Decals sourced from spares. by ATom.UK, on Flickr
