  1. Hi dear Britmodellers! Here is my last build, a Do-335 in 1/48 scale from Tamiya. This kit was a gift from a friend and as I am not a fan of german WWII aircrafts, I decided to go for a what if. My story: April 1945, a german Do-335 was short petrol and landed in Luxembourg-Findel airport. The luxembourgish recovered the plane and have fight with the americans in the Korean war and later in VietNam. The US General Patton who died has his grave in Luxembourg and had a son, W. T. Patton who was the pilot of the A-335. The kit was painted with MrPaint SEA colors and weathered with oil paints and several other technics. I hope that you will like my build. It was fun to turn this german Do-335 into a what if. Lolo
  2. I'm calling this one done, Monogram's 1974 issue of the DO-335 Pfeil. There are nicer kits out there, but this one was in the stash, and I do like a challenge! Kit was rescribed completely, molded in engine details cut out and the forward and rear cowls closed, exhaust boxed in (and reduced in size), rear engine radiator flaps opened and boxed in, clear nav lights made from drilled acrylic rod, elevators cut free and dropped, molded in cowl guns removed and replaced with brass tube guns. The wheel wells, gear, and cockpit were detailed with copper and brass wire, aluminum tubing, sheet plastic and some photo etch belts , and Ultracast exhaust stacks (designed for the Tamiya kit) were used. Paint is Tamiya acrylic, and weathering is oils and pastels, with Cutting edge decals. Hope you like, Colin and an interesting size comparison, it shows what a huge airplane the Pfeil really was! - Thanks for looking, Colin
  3. Hello all, and thank you for checking in to see if you could help me. I am looking at the box top of my Dragon 1/72 DO-335 B6 and I am desperate for more info on the Halifax in the background marked NZ*E. Here is a link to the kit in question, in no way is this an endorsement for the site: http://www.mustang-hobbies.com/product_p/dml-5010.htm ...I simply found this to be the most accessible option to post IMHO. I am wondering three things about this aircraft: 1: Is it a fictitious configuration with the two large masts on the dorsal surface? I have looked through the almighty google but I couldn't find anything which leads me to believe that perhaps this is a Luft '46 notion or artistic impression. 2: Where can I find more info on the masts if they do exist? 3: Can someone point me in a direction that will enable me to use the new Revell AG kit as my basis for conversion? I am hoping to hear that 'X' 1/72 kit has the correct cowls etc. which I can then purchase as required and loot for parts. I understand if it 'isn't that simple' but I would sure appreciate any insight. Perhaps my requests and ambitions will be rendered moot by an impending release of a radial engined Halifax in the future, but I can't wait on speculation while I have this burning need to sit this 'fax next to my Night-fighting Arrow. Thank you, and Kind Regards! modelglue
