Hello everyone Hoping that you are well and looking forward to the weekend. I am hoping to return to model making after a long gap. My skills were lacking, but I had been building models since I was 4 years old. My first one, with my grandfather helping me; the Airfix SM79. Mottle is difficult aged 4⦠but it was fun trying. Then I built a Revell F-4 Corsair, and glued the wings on upside down š¤¦āāļø In order to try to avoid such mistakes over 50 years later, for my return to the hobby; I decided to try something that is mainly all one colour, and to use an older kit. For reasons of nostalgia and also, to try to keep it simple. I found some old Heller kits and plan to build a Dewoitine D501 (510?) in Lithuanian service. AZ kits have this boxed in their āD510 Internationalā version. Yet I donāt think that the Lithuanian ones are D510ās. I looked on Wikipedia and⦠Iām confused I will not be building the AZ kit; itās the old Heller D501 kit that I will be building. Somehow, it looks to me like these Dewiotines in Lithuanian service are more like the 501. Hence would be a Dewoitine D501L? Already breaking with my original intention to keep things simple; I have ordered a conversion set from Kora/LF models to help me, and to provide decals and painting instructions. There are profiles online, one shows the wheel spats (spats taken off - bare wheels) /undercarriage in a different way, to the only photographs that I can find. The undercarriage minus spats, in the photographs of the aircraft in a field; looks more like a D501, than on the profile, that looks like a D510T for example. Im not sure how to insert photographs here, Iām learning again. I will try to edit the post later, including the public domain photo from Wikipedia. š¤ Does anyone have any advice on this topic? Also; would the interior of the Lithuanian aircraft have been the same colour, as that of those used in French service? Vert Nil? Blue? The light shade of an almost sand shade used in some French aircraft of the era? Thank you for any advice in advance TonyT

This'll be fun. The Kora decal set comes with some resin aftermarket parts that I will not be using. The build will be OOB except for the decals and some scratch bits I may (or may not!) add. Obviously this will be a 500V, not a 501... That's it! What beautiful box-art! Sprue, etc... KORA aftermarket stuff... What number I choose...I have no idea yet. Ask me next week. --John
